VW Rustenburg Supergroups is, without a doubt, the most frustrating and disappointing dealership I’ve ever dealt with. Even after they replaced my car, getting proper assistance was a constant struggle. Everything had to be done their way. The staff were extremely rude. I was screamed at while calmly asking questions. I’ve never experienced such unprofessional and intimidating behavior from a business. The FNI in particular, stood out ,she clearly lies with a straight face. This experience has left a bitter taste, and I can honestly say I’ve never disliked a company more. I will never return, and I urge anyone considering doing business there to be very cautious. I so wish that i could've read the reviews of this company before going there I, now realize why most people did not get the help they needed.
: 1 April 2025 Re: Complain regarding pre-owned vehicle purchased from Volkswagen Rustenburg Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with a pre-owned vehicle I recently purchased from Volkswagen Rustenburg. I, Eileen Petersen, purchased a pre-owned vehicle from your Rustenburg dealership on 19 March 2025. I should note that this was not the vehicle I had initially selected. Upon collecting the vehicle at approximately 17:00, I immediately noticed several concerning issues during my journey home. Issues Identified Upon driving the vehicle, I discovered the tyres were significantly under-inflated, necessitating immediate attention. After addressing this issue, further problems became apparent including distinct abnormal noises from the gearbox, poor vehicle handling and balance, unusual sounds from the doors whilst driving, and concerns with the rear suspension. Further inspection revealed evidence of repainting without prior disclosure, misaligned door panels, and visible marks on the chassis suggesting possible previous accident damage. The paintwork quality was substandard throughout. The service documentation was woefully inadequate, lacking the vehicle identification number, registration details, service history verification, and proper dealership authentication via stamps. I was provided conflicting information regarding the vehicle's history, being unclear whether it was previously privately owned or used as a demonstration model. The odometer reading of 15,000 km was present without supporting documentation verifying its accuracy. Actions Taken I contacted the sales representative immediately upon arriving home on 19 March 2025 to report these issues. Though advised to return the following Monday, I found the vehicle's condition too concerning to wait. After another test drive the following morning confirmed the same problems, I returned the vehicle to your dealership on 20 March 2025. I specifically requested a replacement vehicle rather than repairs, as I do not wish to accept a newly purchased vehicle requiring immediate rectification. Despite my clear communication, I was informed that the vehicle would be sent for a DEKRA inspection only after I had identified and demonstrated the faults. The vehicle has remained at your Rustenburg dealership since 20 March 2025. Desired Resolution I am formally requesting cancellation of the vehicle finance agreement. I find it unacceptable that your dealership appears unwilling to source a suitable replacement vehicle and instead seems to be pressuring me to accept a vehicle with which I am fundamentally dissatisfied. While I appreciate that the vehicle comes with a warranty, I consider it unreasonable to immediately rely on warranty coverage for a newly purchased pre-owned vehicle. Even a pre-owned purchase should be in proper working order without requiring immediate extensive repairs. I trusted Volkswagen's reputation for quality and customer service, and I am disappointed that this situation has not been resolved appropriately. I look forward to your prompt response and a satisfactory resolution to this matter. Yours faithfully, Eileen Petersen
