I purchased a 2018 Volkswagen Polo GP 1.2 TSI Highline DSG from Citton Cars Gezina on 6 March 2026. While inspecting the vehicle during the purchase process, I noticed a few issues such as a loose headlight, a cracked windscreen, an expired license disc, and a broken main key. I accepted these issues because the vehicle is used and I expected the dealership to assist in resolving them.
However, only two days after taking delivery of the vehicle, I noticed that the driver’s door is a different colour from the rest of the car. When I raised this concern with the dealership, I was told that only the rear bumper had been painted, which clearly does not match what I observed.
After doing a more thorough inspection of the car, I also discovered that the radiator fan and fan ***ling appear to be aftermarket parts. The vehicle service history also shows that the car has been serviced by several different service providers, which raises further questions about the vehicle’s maintenance and repair history.
There has also been ongoing back and forth regarding the cracked windscreen and the license disc that had expired at the time of purchase.
These issues have raised serious concerns for me about whether the vehicle may have previously been involved in an accident or repaired without full disclosure.
I have now requested a full independent inspection from a third-party inspection service to assess the condition of the vehicle. Depending on the findings, I will also be escalating the matter to the National Consumer Commission under the Consumer Protection Act.
I spent a long time searching for this specific vehicle and was initially very happy to find it, but this experience has been extremely disappointing. I hope the dealership takes responsibility and resolves this matter fairly.
