Dear Colgate Team,
I am writing to express my deep disappointment with a recent experience involving your Colgate Salt toothpaste.
In February 2025, I purchased a multi-pack (5 tubes for around R80) from Checkers Sandton. I only started using one of the tubes last week, and I immediately noticed that something was wrong.
The taste is unusual, and the texture feels off compared to the Colgate Salt I’ve always trusted. Most concerning is that it produces no foam when brushing, and my mouth does not feel clean or refreshed afterwards. It genuinely feels like I haven’t brushed my teeth at all.
When comparing the new tube to the old one, the difference is huge:
The color of the paste (blue and white) looks different
The consistency and performance are not the same
The packaging feels low-quality
There is no fresh feeling after use, unlike before
This experience has been very disappointing. I’ve used Colgate for years, and this is the first time I’ve questioned whether a product is authentic or defective. I feel stuck with multiple tubes I now cannot use.
Please, Colgate, take a closer look into this matter. Whether it’s a counterfeit issue or a serious drop in product quality, your loyal customers deserve reliable, high-quality products—especially when it comes to oral care.
