I really regret using the services of Collect Couriers. My main concern was not their processing times but more related to being given false information, not being responsive and having to follow up with them continuously just to send me the electronic copies of documents of mine they had in their possession. I would not recommend this company to anyone who is looking for a reliable and transparent service provider. Police Clearances On the 3rd of May, three weeks after submitting my Police Clearances, I request an update but receive no response. On the 8th of May, with the help of another well-known document and courier service, I discover that my Police Clearances have been ready for collection since 26 April. I inform Jack Strauss of the status of my Police Clearances and request for it to be emailed to me. Later that same day I receive a message from him confirming the Police Clearances have been collected. I again request that the documents be emailed to me. From 9 May to 11 May I send multiple requests for the PCs to be emailed to me. No response from Collect Couriers. My phone calls also go unanswered. On the 12th of May the PCs are emailed to me. No notification, message or apology for the delay just an empty email with the attachments from an unknown address. On 14 May I receive a message from Jack with a weak excuse on why he could not respond to my messages and why the PCs could not be emailed to me and an apology. Courier of Documents 14 May - I request Collect Couriers to send my documents via courier. I also inquire whether it’s still worth waiting for my birth certificate (BC) which was still in process. No response from Collect Couriers on this. 17 May - Having received no feedback on my previous request, I inform Jack that I can arrange someone to collect my documents from him. I request a reference number for the BC application so I can follow up myself. No response from Collect Couriers. Friday 18 May (10:30) - I call Jack to inform him that I urgently needed the PCs and my passport to be sent to me via courier the same day. The documents had to reach me by Wednesday in Abu Dhabi so I could be ready for an appointment I had on Thursday 24 May at 10:00 in Dubai. I also asked him if he could collect another document from a residential address in Centurion. I said I would gladly pay extra for this service and we agreed on an amount which would basically cover his fuel charges. I was informed that I’m a client of Collect Couriers and therefore they will go out of their way to help me. Jack said he could only collect it the next day though (Saturday) but can then Courier it to me in the afternoon. This would have meant the documents would reach me by Tuesday 22 May. I asked him to be at the pickup point before 12:00 after which there will be no one available. However the documents were not sent on the Saturday and only on the Tuesday, reaching me too late. Here is how that happened: Saturday 19 May - On the day of the arranged collection, I send Jack messages and make phone calls to him which go unanswered. Twenty minutes before 12:00, Jack collects the certificate but still does not notify me or respond to my calls or messages. Monday 21 May - Expecting the delivery the next day, I request the tracking number for the delivery and Jack says he will send me the number as soon as he receives it. I ask him if he sent the package on Saturday but he does not reply. Later I would find out that it was not sent. I follow up again later the day but receive no response. Tuesday 22 May - The morning Jack responds saying he still does not have the tracking number. I start raising concerns about the unavailability of the tracking number and ask him to keep me updated. Throughout the day I try to reach him and ask for updates but I get no response. I decided to phone DHL and give them the receiver details to track the package. They informed me that there is no package on it’s way to me. I call Jack and give him the status from DHL. He assures me it was sent but he still does not have the tracking number. This turned out to be false because at this point in time, I would later discover that the package had not even been delivered to DHL yet. I ask him to please prioritize this issue and come back to me immediately with the details. He says they are very busy and continuously on the road and inside Home Affairs and that is why he cannot respond to my messages or phone calls. I remind him that I spent more than R5800 on all my documents with him and that the package containing all of these critical documents is now untraceable. At 15:30 Jack informs me that DHL did not collect the package on Saturday (4 days ago) but they did collect it on Monday. They don’t have a tracking number and he will drive to Midrand to get the tracking number. This also turned out to be false information. I call Jack demanding answers. He informs me that there is another company he works with called Team Visas and Travel (TVT) who should have sent him the tracking number. I get the contact details of this company but after not responding to my messages or answering two of my calls, their phone is switched off. AT 16:30 I receive the tracking number of the package confirming that it was only picked up from TVT at 16:25 on Tuesday afternoon (4 days after the day it should have been sent). I was continuously led to believe the package was sent on Saturday when it wasn’t. The package arrived on Thursday, 24 May making it impossible for me to attend the appointment on time. It also contained my birth certificate which I was never informed was even collected in the first place. The company has offered to be given an opportunity in the future to correct their service but I will not trust them to handle my important documents.

Frustrated is an understatement, I was in urgent need of an Unabridged Civil Union Certificate, on reading the positive reviews left by other satisfied clients I decided to use Collect Couturiers, unfortunately it has turned into a nightmare that has no end in sight. In a nutshell I have paid close on R5000.00 and have nothing to show for it other than excuse after excuse. This process that was supposed to take no more than a month started in earnest when first payment was made on 15/05/2017 up until present (02/02/2018) with no end in sight. Apparently they incurred some problems with my document but have supplied no evidence thereof, when I try corresponding with them I receive very vague replies and quite frankly I have lost all trust with this company and their management. That being said, I no longer wished to proceed with their services and conveyed my dissatisfaction and asked to be reimbursed as I have received absolutely nothing. I even went as far as to offer them half the reimbur*****t of the some I paid them and have yet to receive a reply, what kind of company treats their clients like that I ask, that it has forced me out of desperation to leave this review. All that I can hope now is that this review can provoke a response from management so that they can sort out this matter and I can get on with my life.
