I am a former employee of the South African branch. I would like to say how they treated me was beyond atrocious, All in the name of power and insecurities.
My story goes as follows.
I worked for Computacenter for 5 years. During this time I assisted them in bringing solutions and innovative ideas to progress the company. When I started there in 2017 the accounts had failed their targets every month.
In the five years, I shaped the accounts from training to processes to technical faults. They have never been as productive as in these five years.
I was outshining the masters and they did not like that. They first started spreading rumours about my work quality. Even though it was immaculate. Adjusting stats, in public it looks like I'm a poor performer, yet taking the solutions I'm providing, and rebranding it as their own. In the interim every time I want to speak about it or mention it, I get slapped with a warning. Essentially they were gaslighting me to control me. Where I do as they say they benefit and I'll get the s****s that are left. It became so bad I had to take a month to protect my mental state. Wanted to leave however the pandemic hit so I was forced to stay.
They attempted to literally break my spirit as a human being so they can control me for their benefit. I did not comply, I do not have a mind that can be broken easily. They waited till I fixed the last account. Then manufactured something mundane, which they blow out of proportion to make it seem severe at the ccma. They don't know any better and only look at processes which the companies know. Then use that as a defence of heir innocence. CCMA found in our favour, yes because they are idiots and you **** your ass off, the process is simple to follow a ****** can do it. This is about contribution. They make sure they follow a couple of simple steps and viola. They stole millions from someone who did the late nights calculations found the flaws, and worked harder than anyone. They have the end-of-year events evening which I don't even get invited to, and accept awards for themselves which were the results of my hard work. This is a UK company, they manage like the old colonial regime, we are in absolute power and everything we say is law. They come to South Africa for cheap labour and treat them like dirt because they know they will not take it further. Well, my case is different, you saved millions of f my back, and tried to literally break my confidence through emotional abuse and general treatment.
I have a wife and three kids, I worked the whole year to save them from losing a large account twice. They waited till a few weeks before Christmas, to fire me. Before the bonus has to be paid out, to really teach me a lesson.
This treatment comes from me standing up for myself firstly and my colleagues. I din;t bend the knee so to speak, and spoke the truth. I would stand up for those they treated the same, they rule by fear. The place employs people from poorer communities, which means they are dependent on that salary. They can now treat them as they please without much resistance.
I cannot allow a British company no less, come treat me like this in my own country. I have been blessed with the ability to critically think and find solutions. You benefited, you paid me for the job you hired me for, you did not pay me for everything else. You cannot take advantage of people in this fashion. It is ********* firstly. 2cndly Who gives you the right to mess with someone's livelihood? Especially one whos back you been bouncing off these 5 years.
This toxic working environment where managers think their gods need to end.
Same as I sign a contract to adhere to company policies, You sign stating you will treat me fairly. It's a two-way street. I came with that knowledge you did not provide it.
If the CEO allows this, I'm sure he knows I advised him, To get rid of the person bringing innovation and new ideas all because they felt threatened. That was it, because I was not afraid of them they couldn't control me. It's a work environment not a freaking world war. My stance is, I treat you, how you treat me.
Respect begets respect, which is fair, they are aware they need to compensate me.
I would like to be compensated as soon as possible thank you.
