Dext Doesn't Deliver
The Dext website advertised ‘Products and Services’ on the Business Plus Plan. We took out a subscription based on this feature. Dext said they made an error advertising Products and Services as part of the Business Plus Plan. Despite this misrepresentation, we were told, we can subscribe to the more expensive packages, double the price or more, if we want the Products and Services feature. The Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 promotes the advertising of products in a fair and reasonable manner. It also forces advertisers to ensure that no misrepresentation is made about their products. Dext needs to address this issue. I think Dext needs to acknowledge there was a misrepresentation of their product. They should honour the original Business Plus sale agreement and provide the Business Plus Plan with the Products and Services feature at the advertised monthly price of R362.25 for a 12 month subscription. Subsequently, we have subscribed to the more expensive Premium Plan. I confirmed with Dext that we would be billed monthly. Instead of the monthly amount of R724.50 coming off the account, the entire annual amount of R8,694 has come off. I would like a refund.
