I had the same experience as Terence with Digitech Projects. When I got home after work on Thursday, my DSTV showed the E48-32 code - No signal. Because of strong winds for the past couple of weeks, I realized that the DSTV dish on the roof must have shifted and lost signal. Friday morning I contacted Digitech Projects because in their ad op face book they specifically state that they handle E48-32 errors. The technician arrived at 16h00 Friday afternoon, and I told him I've checked all the inside connections and rebooted the decoder, as instructed by the DSTV helpline. The only place where the problem could be, is with the dish on the roof. I then asked him several times what it will cost before I give the go-ahead for the repairs. He told me that he first has to get onto the roof and do an assessment and then he will ask for a price list from his office. While on the roof, he dropped the LNB receiver I bought a year ago at Makro for ± R500.00 to the ground. I picked it up and put on the boundary wall next to his ladder. I again asked him what this whole operation will cost, and again he said he is waiting for the price list. Then he came down the ladder with my 80 cm dish in his hands and told me that the rust patches on the dish are the cause of the no signal error. I took out from the garage a dstv dish (exactly the same as the dish that worked perfectly for 4 years) but according to the technician that was not the correct one. After another 15 minutes, the signal got back on again, but when I received the invoice, I nearly fainted. R7685.00 - Labour R1350.00 / Call out fee R550.00 / Receiver R1650.00 / Sundries R285.00 / and 90 cm ALUMINIUM SATTELITE DISH R3850.00. Payable immediately! I did not authorize that dish! The guy never discussed it with me, despite the fact that I've asked him several times what the costs will be. He even took both the 80 cm dishes with him, as well as my perfect working LNB receiver. If I knew beforehand what their account would be, I've most definitely would not even let them into my house. I've paid one third of the account because that was what I've budgeted for, and I told the manager that I will pay the rest when I can get the money. On the right-hand bottom corner of the invoice, it says "Payable by 14 November 2025. But they keep on calling me - I am even too afraid to go home today.
