I had the same experience as Terence with Digitech Projects. When I got home after work on Thursday, my DSTV showed the E48-32 code - No signal. Because of strong winds for the past couple of weeks, I realized that the DSTV dish on the roof must have shifted and lost signal. Friday morning I contacted Digitech Projects because in their ad op face book they specifically state that they handle E48-32 errors. The technician arrived at 16h00 Friday afternoon, and I told him I've checked all the inside connections and rebooted the decoder, as instructed by the DSTV helpline. The only place where the problem could be, is with the dish on the roof. I then asked him several times what it will cost before I give the go-ahead for the repairs. He told me that he first has to get onto the roof and do an assessment and then he will ask for a price list from his office. While on the roof, he dropped the LNB receiver I bought a year ago at Makro for ± R500.00 to the ground. I picked it up and put on the boundary wall next to his ladder. I again asked him what this whole operation will cost, and again he said he is waiting for the price list. Then he came down the ladder with my 80 cm dish in his hands and told me that the rust patches on the dish are the cause of the no signal error. I took out from the garage a dstv dish (exactly the same as the dish that worked perfectly for 4 years) but according to the technician that was not the correct one. After another 15 minutes, the signal got back on again, but when I received the invoice, I nearly fainted. R7685.00 - Labour R1350.00 / Call out fee R550.00 / Receiver R1650.00 / Sundries R285.00 / and 90 cm ALUMINIUM SATTELITE DISH R3850.00. Payable immediately! I did not authorize that dish! The guy never discussed it with me, despite the fact that I've asked him several times what the costs will be. He even took both the 80 cm dishes with him, as well as my perfect working LNB receiver. If I knew beforehand what their account would be, I've most definitely would not even let them into my house. I've paid one third of the account because that was what I've budgeted for, and I told the manager that I will pay the rest when I can get the money. On the right-hand bottom corner of the invoice, it says "Payable by 14 November 2025. But they keep on calling me - I am even too afraid to go home today.
A speedpoint transaction for R500.00 was duplicated on 1st July 2025 on my credit card account. One transaction went through that is correct, but the incorrect transaction is still on my account as "uncleared" and the R500.00 is not available. For every email I send to "contactcard@absa.co.za or authorisations@absa.co.za I receive a generic email from ABSA with a new reference number. I also sent them a letter from the merchant that they do not have any uncleared funds and that the 2nd transaction was not on their speed point report. This morning I called ABSA but o my word, the agent was a rude, ill-mannered African girl! I think it is time to move on to a bank where the main obligation of the staff is to help the clients and not to shout at them and interupt you while you try to explain your proble.
I am using the NATIS online system for several years now to renew my motor vehicle licenses. And all I can say is WELL DONE! I live in a town in the Overberg and it is a horror experience to try to renew the licenses at the local traffic department - Systems offline, time wasted, arrogant youngsters, crowded areas, etc etc. Then about 5 years ago I stumble onto the NATIS website and gave it a try. Long story short - it works perfectly every time. I logged in onto their website on 24-03-2025, apply for the 2 licenses, pay with my credit card, and the documents were delivered to my door ysterday afternoon. 26-03-2025. The courier cost is R90.00 but for sure well spent. I also referred a colleque to NATIS online earlier in the year and he had the same experience - his license was delivered to his door within 3 days.
This is the 2nd year in a row that I have renewed my motor vehicle licenses online on the NATIS website. I did the transaction on Friday, 23-02-2024 and paid with my credit card. And the skynet courier just delivered the envelope with the 2 new license discs at my place of work. Well done and thank you for making the whole process so easy. I honestly hate it to go and stand in queues at the local Traffic Department.
The best couriers in SA, especially the Bredasdorp branch. Friendly and competent. Thank you!
I ordered and paid for 5 pairs of "skaapvel" slippers on 15-06-2020. The amount is R1910.00. It is 2 months later and still no product. The reasons she gives for not delivery is multiple - cold weather, too much rain, labour problems, load shedding, a spider bite, equipment not working, her being in a wheel chair, bad health, etc, etc. Last night she called me after I sent her several whatsapps, requesting a refund and then it appeared that she does not have the funds to give a refund! Then she offered to send me leather belts! To do what with? I've ordered slippers and if she cannot produce, I want my money back. Please people, do not pay any money to this woman because you will surely loose you money. She cannot handle the orders she accepted and your money will disappear in a bottomless pit!
I've ordered and paid for a Salton mini kitchen on 16th June 2020 and Maxitools promised delivery within 5 - 7 working days. When I enquired after the 7 days expired, I received an automated email that delivery has been extended to 7 - 10 days, At day 10 I sent an email to find out what happened to my order, and again received an automated reply that one of the consultants will contact me within 48 hours. Another 96 hours went by with no reply. This morning when I tried to find a telephone number on their website, a red note appeared "Business closed permanently." What now?
My mum, 85 years old, lives in a godforsaken town in the Free State. She is not allowed to go out during the lock down, she does not use neither know the internet and EFT payments and the Post Office is closed since the beginning of the lock down. No mail delivery or postal services at all for the past 2 months. This morning when she wanted to use her landline phone to call, the line was suspended! She only has a prepaid cell phone contract with limited air time, and cannot call Telkom's so-called help centers. She managed to send a sms to my sister in Bloemfontein to tell about her predicament but Telkom refuse to give any information to my sister because she is not the subscriber on their system. Please help! I am 1000 km and my sister 200 km away and we don't know what to do. My mum is in a state of panic and is not able to find any previous accounts so that we can get an account number to do an EFT. We have her ID number, tel number and address where the line is installed. We just need a number that we can call where capable people will be able to help us.
