ooked DJ Anker for our wedding on 4 March 2023 at Natte Valleij on the 24 March 2022. Will not recommend him as a DJ, unless, you are keen on being dropped last minute. I am going to list facts in the following bullet points and then you can decide if he is your wedding DJ. 1. Booked and paid deposit on 24 March 2022 (almost a year ahead). We also chatted via a call, whatsapp messages etc. So it was very clear what date we booked. 2. Confirmed booking on 4 January 2023 to ensure he is still aware of our booking. Did not want to be dropped last minute ****tle did I know what was coming). He confirmed the booking. 3. Confirmed booking again on 11 January 2023 and confirmed the banking details to make final payment. Made final payment. Also mentioned that we will chat to him on the 24 Feb 2023 to chat through all the songs etc. when my partner is back from overseas. He confirmed and said everything is fine. 3. Received a whatsapp message (not even a call) on 4 February 2023 that he cannot make our wedding anymore because a client called him and he now has a "double booking". The booking was obviously at a grander wedding venue with 200 guests, no wonder we were dropped. He did mentioned some personal issues also caused him to double book. DJ Anker then mentioned he found someone who would be available to DJ for us, and he will just pay over our money which we paid him to this new DJ because maybe he will ask as more. The funny thing is this DJ was over a R1000 cheaper than DJ Anker when I asked the new DJ for a quote. DJ Anker obviously asked the new DJ what his rates are.... or the new DJ just mentioned it because when I chatted to the new DJ he actually gave it upfront without me asking. DJ Anker then paid me back into my account (R100 short) - not going to let him short us 🙂 4. Then the cherry on the cake. DJ Anker said to my now husband he will organise a smoke machine for us on our wedding day to apologise for all the inconvience. We thought wow, we don't need it, but this is great. Do you know what - the smoke machine NEVER arrived! He is not reliable and not a man of his word. Watch out. Might be a good DJ but definitely lacking in the client service department.
