I just want to give an honest opinion and perhaps save someone the trauma and regret I now have to live with.
I’m undergoing treatment here. I had done my homework as best I could, before I approached this practice. But there are a few things I could not have known that would have really helped me. I hope I can pass these along to you so you are not in my position one day.
1. There is no standard professional consultation
They will email you a treatment plan that you either accept or… I guess you just see what else youl do with yourself. Just like that. It’s very unprofessional to never have a chance to discuss your treatment with your doctor. They will tell you if you want to see the doctor in person you must pay extra. Later when you complain they will back paddle and say you could have seen the doctor various other ways they did not initially tell you about.Il tell you the affect this will have later.
2. The appointments are rushed and you won’t have time to think things through that are being done to you to be able to make good decisions. Their business model is about pushing numbers so patient care gets compromised for profit.
3. The doctor will keep information from you, or give you limited information so that you arnt able to decide things for yourself because you are perpetually in the dark about what is happening to you because as per point one. Nothing is discussed with you directly- it’s just done to you and you hope it will all be ok later. You decide to trust the process and trust that what they have decided without your input will look good on you. You hope it will look good on your face.
4. They don’t apologize when they have done wrong. They justify their poor treatment by telling you that they charge medical aid rates?? I guess to them that means you are disempowered because they are doing you a favour by charging you less than others. In other words “you get what you pay for, if you want good management go somewhere else where youl pay more” I don’t understand this perspective.
5 Even when you voice your complaints they are dismissed because the doctor knows best even though it’s your face and smile🤷🏽♀️. When you pluck up the courage to confront him-he will even tell you -I wish people would just do what I frikken tell them to do.
My teeth and smile have been messed up by these people. I went from a confident smiley type of person-to someone that hides behind my hand when I smile. My self esteem and confidence has been disturbed to a point that my family is suggesting I go to therapy.
Please listen to me. If ever you go to any doctor especially for cosmetic work and you never get to discuss and have a consultation with them, red flag. Run! Really there are so many people doing the same thing, that you will find someone that will listen to your needs and wants and still charge reasonably. Personally even if it’s slightly more, rather pay alittle extra than sit in regret like me.
I’m still confused and thinking what il do about what has happened to me as a result of trusting this practice with my most personal aspect of my personality and appearance. I just wanted to forewarn some people out there that were like me and were blinded by how nice the place looks and how nice their IT system is etc and gave up too much faith in a process that excludes you and your thoughts and options from day one.
