My family and I enjoyed our weekend, but it's what happend after that has left us completely flabigasted. At the end of the weekend I would have been inclined to rate the place about 3.5. As nice as it is, there are a few shortcomings. It sleeps up to 10, but the sleeper couch is extremely hard, the bunk beds have very thin mattresses (even for kids) and there are only two toilets meant to cater for 10 guests. I was also slightly annoyed that we had to pay a cleaning fee (standard) but were expected to drive our black bags of trash to the entrance of Pringle Bay. Supposedly for every black bag left on the property they would charge us R500! We were also charged a R2500 breakage deposit, which is preposterously high for the type of accommodation they offer. We were only made aware of this after booking the place. Nonetheless, the owner seemed friendly and we made the best of our weekend. We left the Sunday, having thanked the owners and even alerted them to a top kitchen cupboard door that fell on my sister inlaws head when she opened it, but being the people we are, my husband took his tools and *****ed the door back in. By Monday, we received a voice note from the owner Steve, claiming that he was missing 5 towels, a plastic cup and that the chain from the toilet blind was broken. Amongst the ten of us, we've booked 100's of holidays and this was the first time we were accused of stealing. Between my husband and I, we both have a 5 star rating on another booking site. We left their home in exactly the same condition we found it. We took nothing, except our trash and what we brought. The towels we used, were left there. Same with the cup. And the toilet blind was broken when we arrived. You can even see it from the listing pictures. By Tuesday, Steve decided to accuse us of smoking in the house. None of the smokers even smoke in their own homes. And he had no evidence of us apparently smoking indoors. Everything he claimed was a blatant lie in an attempt to scam us of our breakage deposit. We were not provided with an inventory list on checking in and neither was there a walk through when we left. So he could absolutely make up anything! Which he took full advantage of. We only got back R900 of our R2500 breakage deposit. I am not just disappointed, but disgusted by their complete lack of morals. Never in my life. I would not recommend this establishment to any one. But I wish them everything they deserve!
