Gas installation job [Ref#309075] Kandua Support reference: 179716 Hilton Mashonganyika was supposed to install a stand alone gas stove for me. He advised that the stove was defective and was not making a spark so he could not complete the installation. He did however insist that I pay him the full amount for the job (R1500 for the gas installation + R850 for the 9kg gas cylinder and gas = R2350) even though he did not complete it. He advised that he would come complete the installation once the stove is fixed. I have not received a certificate of installation for the gas stove installation but he did issue me with a damage report which I gave to the store who I bought the stove from. Hopefully he is honest and will complete the job once the stove situation has been sorted or refund the money for labour if the manufacturer completes the installation). I attached the conversation on whatsapp, the proof of payment, the damage report that he sent me and the one I edited on my laptop seeing as he had misspelled my name and address
game stores logged a ticket with Defy and sent technicians over. The technicians from Defy came to have a look at the stove today and advised that the stove is a fully gas stove, meaning that it will need a lighter to switch on. If it was a partial gas stove then it would have a cord for the plug which creates the spark. They advised that Hilton as a certified gas installer should have known that information and that there is nothing wrong with the stove itself so there is nothing that they can do about it. They also advised that in order for me to be able to return the stove I would need to get the certificate of installation otherwise the warranty will be voided. I advised Hilton of this and he insists that he come have a look at the stove itself tomorrow instead of just giving the certificate so that I can return it. SoHilton will be coming tomorrow to have a look at ths stove
Here's the update regarding this situation: 1. Hilton never came to view the stove on 14 February 2023. I waited the whole day and then he eventually sent me a message on Whatsapp with the installation certificate so that I can return the stove 2. I returned the stove to Game, reached out to Hilton to recommend what stove I should buy and then purchased it. It was delivered yesterday (2 March 2023). 3. Hilton advised yesterday that he would complete the installation today (3 March 2023) at around 10am. It is now 11:49am. He is almost 2 hours late. I sent him a Whatsapp message and tried calling him but he is not responding.
Essentially I paid for R1500 for a service that I never received and now i have to harass and beg the gas installer that I found on your website for a response as if I am not a paying customer.
I called Hilton from Dremtech and he is not answering his phone. I called Kandua and they are not answering their phone. I sent them an email and they are not answering their emails. I sent Hitlon a whatsapp but he is not answering his calls
