We recently moved into a house in Alexandria, Eastern Cape. The water meter has been vandalized. The tap was removed. I have been to report it several times with no joy. They did send three guys who came to take a look. Said that they were waiting for the van/bakkie to come back from Port Alfred. That is the last we saw of them. I went to the municipality again on Friday because the situation has become unbearable. They were closed. There is no sign with their opening hours or anything to indicate what their opening or closing hours are. We are at a loss because now we sit without water for almost a month. We did manage to harvest rain water via drums which is now depleted. We have to buy drinking water on a daily basis which cost money. We needed to clean the house which we moved in to and now we sit in a filthy house with no water. This is apauling and disgusting to say the least. The is a gross human right violation and a gross infringement on our dignity and pride let alone our personal hygiene which I don't take kindly to.
