Drostdy Graaff Reinette.... surely NOT 5 Star

We stayed at the Drostdy Hotel on 19 December 2025. What we thought would be a special experience, turned out to be a very disappointing stay. This is certainly NOT a 5 star hotel. Waiting 45 minutes for a pre-dinner drink (after pointing out the problem to the waiter several time) as well as other issues during dinner is not expected at a hotel with this rating and price point. Breakfast had it's own issues. The omelette my wife ordered was impossible to eat due to excessive red pepper or chilly. A replacement order of scrambled eggs took a long time to reach the table - well after I had finished my own breakfast. How disappointing! The room was was clean and well appointed but the electrical plug at the vanity in the room was broken (could not be used) and one of the basins in the bathroom was blocked. (reported to reception without ant action taken.) What is truly disappointing is the fact that I wrote a review on the hotel's review page without any response. Points to an attitude of 'don't care'.
