After two weeks of waiting for DCF to repair our fence we received an enlightening phone call this morning from Lerry, apparently the owner who informed us they have to cancel due to the rain the previous day. It’s appalling how their business is being conducted with no regard for their clients time. At least have the courtesy to contact the client at least a day in advance if you need to cancel. It was evident that we were not being valued as clients. After much debate, Larry advised that he would pull three guys from another job and they would be coming to us immediately - more false promises. At 9:30 we got a message saying that they are loading and will be here shortly. 10:30 we called Larry who refused to answer. Time is money DCF, we had to take leave and plan our schedule not so we can be messed around by you. You are not doing us any favours! I thought I should post this to warn potential clients of how you operate. It is sad when the ‘bakkie brigade’ provides better service than the bigger supposedly ‘reputable companies’ out there.

To be honest I really hate concrete fencing....or "precast walls" as they're also known. Why? Because after a while they all sag horribly! However, years ago I bought a cottage in Kloof that lacked a street boundary fence or wall of any kind and, wanting security immediately, I approached a number of these 'instant wall merchants' and, on the basis that you generally get what you pay for, I accepted the most expensive quote for a "pre-cast" wall from DURBAN CONCRETE FENCING. However, I made a huge song and dance about my concern about ugly "sagging" so demanded, and received, an assurance that extra strong foundations for the "uprights" would be provided. Well done Durban Concrete Fencing - the wall went up brilliantly in just one day and my need for instant security (or the sense if it!) was satisfied. But....you've guessed it....after some time, the dreaded ugly sagging appeared! My approach to the company - whose assurance I'd accepted that it wouldn't happen - fell on cloth ears; instead I was offered a quote to restore the wall to vertical at a price approaching the original cost! Moral of the story? " When in doubt, don't! "

Appaling customer service and failure to adhere to quote supplied. Non transparancy on pricing aswell pathetic business ethics displayed by sales representatvies who failed to communicate effectively. Upon site visitation sales rep was requested to replace complete front fencing of property. Sales rep then quoted from gate to gate leaving additional panels on either side if the gate which were a different pattern out of the wuote completely. Where as other competitor companies quoted accordingly using correct discretion to understand as a sales rep that it wouldnt make sense to have two different fences at the entrance of a property and that it would be benficial to sell a client on replacing all the fencing at once as this was my request. Upon request as to why the fencing on either side hasnt been replaced. Sales rep visited and advised if we would like to replace the sides and our reply was yes that was what was requested. Later to find out without being notified by the sales that he did not use discretion amd quote foe this accordingly. He failed to inform that there is additional charge. Upon completion, portions of fencing was crooked and not aced correctly. Poorworkmanship was displayed. Upon return to rectify this with another sub comtractor sent by this company to rectify their workmanship. I recieved ayou bl of close to double the amount as originally quoted. Upon meeting the owner to resolve the issue of poorbisiness ethics and customer service displayed by his staff. The owner defended the staff by saying that we should have understood this originally and he u derstand that jes stuff made an error however his only solution was a measly discpunt of R1300 on a job amounting to now R17000 which was originally quoted at R11000. This says alot about this organisation as other competitors offered exceptional service and displayed incredible understanding of the cusotmers needs and their industry with proper quotations and price transparancy. I do not recommed using this company as their business ethic and way of conduct is of a appaling standards and workmanship requiring a return trip to redo the original poor workmanship. Durban Concrete Fencing is a no go!
