Echo Glass Fourways and my disasterous experience with CAROL

I recently dealt with Carol of Echo Glass Fourways. On 1st April I confirmed the order for 9 x pieces of glass for a door with 9 glass panels each 188mm x 325mm. SMALL! Carole claimed she did not have such BIG glass and needed to order and I could collect on Friday 4th. On Friday I went to Carols premises at Thatchers Corner Witkoppen Road - which is nothing more than a tiny seedy secondhand JUNK shop. Not the smart photo seen the their adverts Carol was there and had some crazy story that they had had no electricity for 3 days and was unable to cut the glass. I told her it was urgent that I get it by 10:00 the next morning as I had a carpenter coming in to install the door. She phoned someone and said: CUT THE GLASS NOW. I wondered how they were suddenly now able to cut the glass without electricity. At 10:00 the next morning I arrived at the seedy little shop to be told Carol was not there. But her daughter was! Carols phone was turned off. I told the daughter to tell her mother to cancel the order as I had to have the glass NOW and was going to buy it elsewhere. And to return my money as she had not even cut the glass. Miraculously Carol appeared and said she was just going to the bank and then she would go home and get the glass cut and bring it back. I said NO - I had to get the glass before all the other suppliers closed for the day. She said her phone was dead because she could not charge it due to no electricity at home. (why she could not charge it at the shop when she was there I had to wonder) I also asked how without electricity she was now able to cut the glass. She said she did not need electricity to cut the glass!!!!!! To this day I have not got my money back and no doubt Carol continues to fleece people. BUYERS BEWARE
