+/- 3 years ago I bought an Ellies 300wh invertor. To date the unit has worked prefectly but I noticed lately it is taking longer to charge and does not hold its charge for long. Suspect battery need replacement. Thats where the problem / run around started. Firstly back to the original store. (Mica)They were very helpful and even contacted the Ellies rep for that area. No help, unit must got in to Ellies. Take invertor to Ellies. They cant help and can only sell me a petrol generator. If I leave the unit with them they will send it to another repair company in JHB. (dont even repair their own items) Warned that the usual answer is 'not economical to repair' Shocking that such an expensive item has become disposable due to the poor repair / service policy. I always understood Ellies to be a reputable brand. Clearly wrong, and now the cheaper Chinese brands seem acceptable.
