Avoid Epson or you'll pay the cost.
Here's why, in my opinion, you should never buy anything made by Epson. Their authorised repairer in South Africa is Partserv. Look up Partserv on hellopeter. Those reviews exactly match our experience. These are the people you have to deal with any time you need a repair on your Epson projector, printer, whatever. In our experience they are an absolute nightmare to deal with. I will never buy another Epson product again for this exact reason, no matter how good the device, until they find a better repair agent.

24 Oct 2025, 09:14For the record, our Epson 4k projector was serviced by the people who sold it to us (E-Piphany), only they said that a bearing in one of the fans was noisy and I should take it to PartServ to replace the fan. in all other respects the projector was fully functional. PartServ replaced 3 fans (presumably they couldn't be bothered seeing which one was faulty) - for which we paid in full. Then they decided that the machine's engine (the LCD panels), and the PCB at a cost of around R20,000. To be clear - the projector was in fully working condition other than a slight noise from a fan when it was given to them. These are the people Epson trusts with their customers' equipment.
