How is it possible that a college, which I will rather not mention now, can say that my statement of results cannot be issued because there has been a problem with ETDP SETA system for 2 years now? Is the problem with ETDP SETA or is it the college?🤔

It is not often that one encounters an individual within a public institution who genuinely embodies the spirit of service excellence — however Juanita Malan-Hendricks, Education and Training Quality Assurance (ETQA) Officer at the Education, Training and Development Practices Sector Education and Training Authority (ETDP SETA) in the Western Cape, has proven to be that rare exception. In my capacity as a third-party stakeholder assisting a former learner to obtain the long-overdue SETA-stamped Certificate — for a qualification completed as far back as 2019 — I had engaged with what felt like nearly every Member of Staff at the ETDP SETA offices in the Western Cape. Yet, progress seemed slow and the process daunting, until I had the privilege of engaging with Juanita Malan-Hendricks. From the very first interaction, it was evident that she approached her work with remarkable integrity, empathy and dedication. Despite the matter falling somewhat outside her immediate scope of responsibility, Juanita took it upon herself to go the extra mile — ensuring that communication was clear, follow-ups were consistent and that a customer-centric approach was maintained at all times. Her unwavering commitment, professionalism and genuine care for the people behind the paperwork stand as a true reflection of what public service excellence should look like. Even when faced with challenges, I am sure that she demonstrates patience, warmth and persistence — restoring faith in the SETA System and setting a commendable example for her colleagues and the organisation as a whole. Juanita Malan-Hendricks, thank you for your kindness, your humanity and your tireless effort in ensuring that service delivery is not just an obligation, however a calling. You have truly made a lasting impact and your work deserves to be recognised and celebrated publicly. With sincere gratitude and the utmost respect, Tyrone Linroy

We have been registered under a NW Skill Training Programme from April. Till this day we haven't received even a single payment or the study materials. We made several enquiries via emails and phone calls but they kept on beating around the bush. Last month they started paying students and only the phase 1 under NW were paid the rest were said to be paid this month. Yesterday again only then phase 1s were paid for the second time. Other provinces have been paying all their students according but NW province only chose to remain consistent on the phase 1 students. Yet they expect all of us to attend online and face to face classes using our own data and money. They promised to give us monthly data allowance along with the stipend but still we have to keep on chasing them, Which is tiring. Etdp-seta is failing the youth of North West Province big time

Good morning, I'm reaching out about the skills development program funded by ETDP SETA NW that I'm currently enrolled in. It's already three months into the learnership, but unfortunately, we haven't received our stipends or study materials as promised. Despite this, we're still required to attend virtual classes every 23rd of the month using our own data, although we were promised monthly data allowances. Additionally, we're expected to submit registers, but ETDP SETA NW has yet to fulfill their promise to pay us. We've made numerous calls and been given empty promises, but still, no payment has been made. This situation is not only frustrating but also challenging given the current economic conditions. It's unfair to be strung along with constant excuses and no resolution in sight. I hope someone can look into this matter and provide some assistance.
