Am writing this complaining about FICA requirements for opening a Business bank account if you are a foreigner. I dont understand the logic of requesting a business permit if i have got a work permit and without even assesing the nature of business one is doing. I tried to open an Account with FNB and they want business permit as per FICA regulations, and to get a business permit Home affairs require; "The following documents must form part of a business visa application: A certificate issued by a Chartered Accountant or a Professional Accountant registered with the South African Institute of Professional Accountants to the effect that you have at least R5 000 000 available in cash, or at least R5 000 000 in cash and capital to be invested in the Republic".

Where would i get that money or rather why would i pay such money if my businewss is just a small consulting business sustained by my work because i do have a work permit and my small business is just a side venture. Are you guys even aware of that of just making unnecesarry noise, am just trying to undeerstand the Logic really. make me understand please
