I've now had my worst customer experience ever by using this company.
I ordered and paid for the dishwasher on 14 July. It was not until 26 July (2 weeks later) that I was informed that there was no stock. This was only after me asking a few times before getting a response.
I emailed the company on 30 July to find out when there would be stock and when I could get my dishwasher. They ignored my emails until 7 August when the staff replied to say that the owner, Wayne Gosher, would contact me. Wayne Gosher didn't call back, and I followed up on 14 August. This was now a month after placing an order, and I still hadn't formally heard from findyourdeal to understand the issue.
On 16 August Wayne sent me an email saying "our stock has arrived in the country and is being cleared through customs, we will dispatch your Dishwasher for delivery by the end of next week hopefully." That would indicate week ending 24 August.
I then tried to contact Wayne on 22 August, 23 August, 24 August, 27 August with no response by email.
It was at this stage I started setting up a transactions dispute with my bank, and planned to open a case of fraud at SAPS. I also contacted Samsung. Only once I complained to Samsung did I manage to get a call from findyourdeal offices. The owner, Wayne mentioned that his business was expanding and therefore was unable to service clients properly.
Wayne was continually in meetings and unable to speak to me. The staff at findyourdeal could do nothing to help me, and kept saying Wayne will call me.
Through this period, they still maintain the item on their website for others to buy. This could fool others into buying the dishwasher and waiting 2 months like I do.
You only informed me much after the promised delivery time-frame that there were stock issues, and only after I started querying why I hadn't received stock.
This is a very poor experience for customer, breaching the CPA in many aspects. The lack of communication was so bad that I thought the company had either closed down, or was a fraud and I had lost my money. This reflect poorly on both findyourdeal and Samsung. I feel that I have been more than patient in this case, but have ended up being another abused consumer.
The order was eventually delivered on 7 September. Yes, it was true that Samsung had run out of stock. But the poor communication from Findyourdeal.co.za was shocking.
