BB Ford Polokwane has given me the most poorly and unfairly service I have ever received from any company. Below is what has happened: On the 21st of December 2021, my Ford Focus ST was towed to BB Ford Polokwane due to clutch plate failure. It has been in the workshop for 4 days without receiving any update, until I initiated the call to check on the progress. I was told, only then that they run with skeleton staff and it will be attended soon. To cut my frustrations short, three weeks later it was eventually fixed and costed me total of R51 000.00. I collected the car around 17:00, the same day of collection I was stuck in Polokwane around 19:00, just after 2 stops - the car couldn't start at all, not even cranking. Unfortunately, due to after hours, I couldn't reach anyone at the dealership and I had to make means of where to sleep In the morning the following day, the technician was assigned to have a look at the car where it was stuck. First attempt of starting the car, it started. However, I insisted to take the car back to the workshop to have it looked thoroughly (I stay 75km from Polokwane, I was avoiding experiencing the same thing at home). In less than 10 minutes, the manager came to me and said is the battery failure (without testing the battery itself). Well, due to avoid experiencing the same thing ever again, I bought the new battery and drove home. I got home and the following day the car couldn't start. I called the dealership to send the technician or tow the car to the workshop, they have eventually sent the truck to tow the car (I was told I will have to pay the expenses if they find out the problem is not theirs - in desperation I agreed) They had a look at the car and I was told the issue is with the "starter motor", I tried to fight the costs, explaining that I brought the car into the workshop and the "starter motor" was functioning perfectly fine, why would it start not functioning same day of collecting the car? "You know how it goes, it is always hard to win the fight against the dealerships". They made me pay plus/minus R5 200.00, on top of the R51 000 that I have paid for clutch plate. They agreed to not charge me for labour and towing costs, only for the new starter motor. I personally feel like they have touched the starter motor wiring while fixing the clutch plate, flywheel & gear box, and that resulted in starter motor malfunctioning, hence the car couldn't start the same day of collection. I am disappointed in the dealership for not taking accountability of their own mistakes - there is no way I could bring the car in with something functioning and get it back with it malfunctioning.
