The food is mediocre, i paid R90 for a bland sandwich. Honestly not at all worth the hype. Its also a R50 entrance fee just to look as some rusted locks, they have a nice area to look out on a water feature but absolutely no place to sit because of all the rusted locks everywhere. Not a nice place, not worth the money

The food is amazing and the staff is super friendly. It’s a beautiful place to enjoy a romantic lunch or breakfast while looking at the Eiffel Tower. You are instantly transported to Paris

We went to French Toast this past weekend. The service was 10/10. Nicolas was so friendly and kind. The atmosphere was lovely. The food was delicious. Large portions. I would definitely reccomend them to anyone wanting to enjoy a day out.

We go out to French Toast Cafe Hartebee****rt about once a year. I have a disabled mentally challenged child who loves it there. On Sunday 14 October we had a terrible experience. We all ordered our food and my food , husband food arrived, about 15 minutes later i had to go ask for my sons food. It still took another good ten minutes to arrive. Please also don't have the cheese platter for two. The price is hefty and the platter really substandard! last trip here. Will never be seeing me again

Looking for a pleasant day out, I got a list of places in and around Hartbee****rt Dam and we came across French Toast Coffee Cafe. The whole concept looked sp amazing. it is a little Paris with a small Eiffel tower even with the bridge with all the locks of friends and lovers names engraved on the lock and becoming part of the decor. Ones first impression is a little Paris with a choice to sit inside the Cafe or outside which serves every dish with French toast, breakfast as well as burgers etc.. They have a novelty shop , a clothing shop as well as a pattieserie with soft French music playing in the background. It was all very cute. We excitedly seated ourselves outside and waited patiently to be served. They were not that busy. We were served by a waiter who abruptly with some irritablity showed us how to scan the menu( what if you did not have a phone) After placing our order we received our drink and were left waiting for our meal for quite some time without making rounds again. By the way the waiter did not bother to introduce him, which every waiter should do. Eventually someone else other than the waiter brought us our food which was so disappointing. A measly breakfast of bacon and eggs with French toast and poached eggs with a hollandaise sauce on French toast ( French bread size) so tiny portions for R98? and that is without coffee. The manager was wondering around and now and then walked to the entrance where people were 'being sanitised, but no interaction with the customers whatsoever. Her lack of training her untrained servers and her lack of keeping her customers happy or doing a courtesy round just added insult to injury making what could have been a pleasant day although costly, totally not worth it. I happened to speak to a friend of mine who coincidently went to French Toast a week later and had the same experience with the serving staff and the disinterest of the manager. French Toast is overpriced and over rated. I will not suggest it to anyone.

The only reason I gave this one star is because no stars isn't an option. The owner is rude and disrespectful. My parents came from out of town and they ruined my father's day lunch I had planned for him. We were served frozen berries... Straight from the freezer . And when we complained that no one could eat these ice bricks of berries... The owner and her partner shouted at us that we should've known what we ordered. I was still charged for it, even though they took it back. And then threatened to make the waiter pay for it if I didn't. Terrible terrible experience

French toast in Harties is reminiscent of boarding school for all the WRONG reasons.

Slow slow service, burnt dry toast, incorrect labeling on the menus AND waitreses who shout AT thier customers when THEY mix up the orders.

If you have all day to waste, are not really too fussy about what youy eat, feel like getting charged for extras wehn you complain that a menus item was omitted from your plate and like to be scolded for pointing this out - like a child - - then by all means go here! otherwise avoid at all costs
