If I could give zero stars I would. Hannelie van Tonder is not only *********** she is also ********* and negligent. She attended to a transfer on behalf of a seller. There were at least 2 disputes between the parties. NEVERTHELESS she proceeded to lodge the transaction WITHOUT even NOTIFYING us, the purchasers, FULL WELL KNOWING there was not only a dispute but also breach of contract! She is also on FNB’s panel so if your bond gets allocated to them DEMAND a different attorney.

The best transfer attorneys I have ever used ! They understand how important it is to communicate with and update the client on a regular basis and they know their business extremely well. Even after the transfer has been completed, they still care and are still willing to help. WOW !!! Will recommend them without the slightest hesitation.

During 2018 Fuchs Roux (FR) handled the sale of our Pretoria house as the conveyancing attorney. They essentially got us into an avoidable mess which ended up costing us around R80,000. A cash buyer missed a deadline for depositing the cash. We were requested by FR to sign for a new deadline to give the buyer more time. We did this. The buyer missed the second deadline. We e-mailed FR asking whether we could forget this buyer. No response. In general, Fuchs Roux's communication was bad. We found a new buyer ourselves, and signed a new offer to purchase. Then 25 days after the last missed deadline, Fuchs Roux told us the first buyer had deposited the money and we should proceed with the sale. We were told the deadlines meant nothing as they weren't 'suspensive conditions'. So why were we signing for and extending deadlines then? It was like a bad joke. Legally, we were now exposed to being sued by one of the two buyers in this double sale situation. We had to find top-notch lawyers to get us out of this mess. Fuchs Roux, who should have taken responsibility for resolving the mess, hardly cooperated with the new lawyers, refused to allow contact with the first buyer, and in the end made us pay them for their 'labour' before releasing documents we needed. Through no fault of our own Fuchs Roux put us through a terrible and expensive experience. At no stage did they apologise or accept responsibility. What became very clear was that they were primarily serving the interests of the estate agent, when legally we were their client. I have reported them to the Law Society.
