I visited Gadget Time at Canal Walk today (Saturday 22nd November) to have a privacy screen protector fitted. The staff member who initially assisted me was friendly and provided great service. However, after the screen was app****, I noticed distracting background lines that affected the clarity of my phone. I approached the staff and explained that I was unhappy with how the screen made my phone look. One of the employees then showed my phone to a man who seemed to be in a position of authority. I’m not sure if he was the manager on duty, as I did not ask, but his behaviour suggested he had some level of seniority because the rest of the team stepped back and allowed him to take over. Unfortunately, his attitude was extremely unprofessional. He took my phone and looked visibly irritated, and aggressively ripped the screen protector off my phone. He threw it aside and said: “ now we’ll just give you a clear one,” without offering any explanation, apology, or basic courtesy. Even after the situation, he did not make eye contact, greet me, or say anything to address the issue. What stood out is that the other staff members apologized for the experience, yet the individual who caused the entire issue did not say a single word. A simple, respectful explanation upfront, such as how privacy screen protectors can affect display clarity, would have prevented all of this. I left the store feeling disrespected and very disappointed. Gadget Time urgently needs to address this kind of behaviour, whether from management or any staff member representing the store.

I have been waiting for longer than two weeks for a response regarding a headset that broke before the warranty had expired. I am sent from pillar to post for feedback but nobody is getting back to me.

Extremely disappointed with Gadget Time Tygervalley. Bought a MacBook case that didn't fit, and when I asked for a refund, encountered poor service and a dismissive attitude from manager Johan. Unacceptable treatment of customers.

I went to them in Tyger valley Mall to buy a Xbox remote. It was a gift for my husband. I do not play games and I am not interested in this field. I asked for a XBox remote and was given one. When we tried it at home, Microsoft said onscreen, that this remote is not 'legal'. We looked closer at the box. It wasn't a XBox remote, it was a XB remote. Not once did they told me it was a R1000 generic remote. Staying in Pretoria, we called them and they said we must bring it in??? Obviously that is impossible. This whole time the service from ANY of the staff is totally UNFRIENDLY - expecially Johan - the manager. He is unbelievable rude. Not once did he say sorry for not knowing that this remote has been 'banned' since October 2023. Eventually it cost me R100 to courier the remote. They refuse to give the money back and my brother bought something for R900 that he could've get at another place for R600.. So I lost another R300. The last R100 is also a lost, All in all I lost R500. I've read a lot of reviews and so many people are unhappy with them and their products. Shame on them!

Gadget time canal walk have just wasted nearly half of my day. R1000 sale of an absolutely useless and tacky product, and a apple charjer that is faulty as well, that we purchased on the 7th of December. The store has managed to pull up the actual sale on their system, so they have proof of the sale number. The cameras in the mall and shop can confirm the purchase if necessary. All we require is a refund for completely unsatisfactory and non working products, purchased leads than 7 days ago and returned in full packaging We called before hand and we were told that we will be able to do the refund. We stated that may not have the receipt and we're still advised to come to the store. It's December, it's busy. All we want is the cash back for a bad quality item that was sold to us. Yes, no sale receipt, BUT........they were able to find the sale and exceptions can be made especially to customers who have an influence in the community and online as well known and trusted businesses. I have audited and managed a store in the same mall and I know for a fact that the cash that we paid for the item CAN be refunded. Why are we now being forced to purchase yet more products from a store that has shown us that their products are unsatisfactory and not up to standard. On top of this all, after waiting 10 minutes to see the store manager, and after he found the sale he then proceeded to make us believe that he was contacting the area manager on his personal contact number for authorization of the refund. After waiting 20 minutes we came back to the store and were issued a store credit, or voucher.....which I know for a fact no authorization has to be obtained for as it is normal procedure if a customer does not have a receipt. Once again, we were coaxed in to buying something else from the store - we made it clear from the beginning that we want the cash back! The store loses nothing. They either resell the item or it stays on their shelves. But now we are R1000 down in cash after have bewing forced to buy a voucher to the value of the refund... I asked for contact details of the area manager and I was given a landline number - the staff knowing all to well that no one would be in office. Being **** to, being forced to buy a voucher after we were not at all satisfied with the terrible quality products that were sold to us initially. And no-one to contact to escalate the matter????? I want the contact details if the area manager and I want the item refunded, the cash back that we paid on the 7th please. I know this can be authorized and kindly advise that this matter should be handled correctly from here on forward. 071 733 0834 or 0822 444 0065 or placementsbypam@outlook.com Please, I expect the refund today, the mall closes tonight at 10pm...more than enough time.

Gadget time Table Bay Mall We have over the last 3 years went out of our way to shop for accessories and screen protectors from gadget time. On Sunday 10 December we spent R1304 in your store that included 2xscreen protectors. We took the protector suggested by the consultant and he said if we had any problems we can return for replacement. So 5 days down after n work week we came back as we had problem with both screen protectors. Daillan who is so unfriendly then advised and point to paper stuck on counter point out disclaimer that if we had problem with screen protector we had to return in one day. After 3 tears of great service and thousands spent in your store. I will not cone back because if this. Congratulations on ****ing of and treating customers like ****.
