Garden cities used to deliver better quality and service. What started out as a noble and honest idea has in my opinion turned into something ugly and cheap.
First of all, the quality of workmanship is laughable. It is cheap. From electrical to plumbing and paint work. They don't even treat the wood finnishings (roof, doors, decor) on the outside of the houses. It ends up peeling, rotting and looking CHEAP and TATTY. Then they want to charge what homes that are not "low cost housing" go for. Upon contacting them to do repairs, you can expect RESISTANCE to say the least. No accountability. Only with persistence will you get them to come out and do what their contract with the home owners say they must. And it is not one or two homes - every person i have met. Some people have problems with all of the above.
It seems that it is going down the drain - and in my opinion all about the money for them.
They now have a business operating on their premises that is breaking the law. BLATANTLY. And it is crystal clear from their responses that they do NOT CARE. How they are getting away with this is beyond me. Fives Futbol in Pinehurst is breaking the law. It is illegal for a business that makes the amount of noise they do to be operating in a residential area. On top of that they are open until 22:00 during the week. This is illegal as well as one can only make a noise till that time on a WEEKEND. This means that the residents have to listen to shouting, screaming, whistle blowing and thumps of the ball being kicked every night of the week. This means that the residents have to keep their windows and doors closed. Never mind coming home after a busy day and expecting quiet such as the law provides. Shouting and screaming. Every night until that time. Sometimes we still hear them despite the television being on. Residents have complained but nothing gets done. This is AGAINST THE LAW. IT IS ILLEGAL. It is violating HUMAN RIGHTS. Furthermore, the players shout vulgar language, they do oil changes and mess in the parking lot. They get changed in the parking lot. They litter and they rev their cars. FURTHERMORE this club has been trying to get a liquor licence so that it can hold functions and entertain these players. MORE noise. Something needs to be done about it.
It is very sad to me because like i said, it started out as a noble, clever and honest development plan. It is illegal. It is wrong.
