Solar Power Complaint against "Power Africa" or "GC International.co.za "
I installed a 5Kva Solar Power System from them in September 2017. The Inverter broke within the first month. It took them 4 weeks to repair. After 3 months I had no change in my Eskom account. After many complaints to the company they replaced the 8 small batteries, where solar power was saved in for night time use, with 4 huge much stronger batteries. But the Inverter broke again in December 2018. It is under a 5 year guarantee and I am without Solar Power since then. They came to take the Mecer Inverter out on 9 January 2019 and told me the factory opened then after the December closure for Christmas. I was told it would take 2 to 10 working days to repair. Every time I phoned they have many answers. Now they promised me a new Inverter on 15 February 2019. For sure they must have stock to replace my Inverter but their story is that they are waiting for stock for the Mecer Inverters. Meanwhile we have been without Solar Power from 9 December 2018. I honestly think that is not a service for a R93,000-00 investment into Solar Power. M & M van Rooyen.

After 3 months without Solar Power I am glad to say that the company mentioned above replaced the faulty Mecer Inverter with a brand new Mecer Inverter out of the box without any costs to me.
It seems to work well after 3 weeks in use.
I thank the company for their response.

After my previous complain the new batteries they fitted in December 2017 and then the Inverter was faulty and they only installed a new Inverter in February 2018 and the system seems to work fine up to December 2019.
They then sent Mr X of a private company to repair my system He discovered that one of the 4 new batteries only lasted 22 months since it was in use with the new Inverter. The factory was closed and Mr X brought me a second hand battery for use during the December 2019 to January 2020 holiday. He promised to replace it with a new battery in January 2020 after the factories will be opened.
It is now July 2020 and I couldn't get Power Africa so far to come and replace the second hand battery with a new one as the circuit is broken due to the second hand battery Mr X fitted to help us. And we have no Solar power during the last load shedding we had from Eskom.
I phoned and wrote a letter to Power Africa but all I got from them was promises with no response to attend to my problem
We just want to warn the public that we had no good experience with Power Africa and it's after service. You are free to make use of them if you like to do so.
