Dealing with Generator King has been like pulling teeth... From the point of asking and following up on a quote, to eventually receiving it, paying for it and then radio silence for almost 2 weeks. I had to follow up twice to get some feedback as to when we can expect a technician, and eventually a day is booked. Day before the expected service day I am told that the repair needed to be done, cannot be done on site. Why quote if this is not a job that can be done on site when I explicitly mentioned this? Why drag this out for so long until the day before the call out. Joshua and Generator King..catch a wake up. UPDATE: try requesting a refund and get met with resistance. Proof of payment and confirmation of bank details sent both have our account number and they still will not refund us unless we send our bank statement which shows payment made to them. Utter nonsense

I am beyond disappointed with the disgraceful service I received from Generator King. I bought a generator from them just a WEEK ago, and it already failed to start. When I called them for help, instead of taking responsibility for their faulty product, they demanded I pay a call-out fee—on a brand-new unit! To make matters worse, they told me it would take TWO WEEKS just to send someone out. Seriously? For a brand-new generator that doesn’t work? After eventually giving in and paying the ridiculous fee, the technician finally showed up and—no surprise—it was a problem on THEIR end, not mine. You’d think they’d apologize and refund me immediately, right? Wrong. They gave me the absolute runaround and made it nearly impossible to get my money back. Zero accountability, zero urgency, and a complete lack of professionalism. Avoid Generator King at all costs unless you enjoy being ********** and treated like an inconvenience. I’ll never buy from them again.

We bought 5 generators of varies sizes from Generator King over the past 3 years. We developed a problem with our latest purchase of a 138-kVa generator that is still under warrantee. (Safriblue Blueberry farm). We currently have an Eskom power outage on the farm and need the generator urgently. We have a fruit cooling facility where export fruit needs to be cooled to under 5 degrees Celsius and cannot afford to be without the service of this generator. We contacted Generator King to urgently assist and was told they can only help within a week. We then requested to speak to the owner and was told he does not take any calls?? Due to this we were forced to hire a generator which is costing us thousands unnecessarily!!! The after sales service of Generator Kind is by the least terrible and has the potential to cost your business millions. DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM!

Excellent service from Bradley Diedericks. He supported me on several occasions with after service support and today 3 years after purchasing again with the support required to enable remote start and stop on the generator. Diligent, knowledgeable and patient. Thank you Bradley, people like you who keep on bringing customers like myself back.

Generator King is amazing! From start to finish, the whole experience was smooth. I ordered a generator, and it was delivered super fast. Purchased a 44 kW Generator from Generator King in July 2022. Shortly after delivery rust started to appear on the generator enclosure and has become progressively worse over time. Reached out to Customer Services at Generator King for assistance in resolving the issue. Enquired about possibility of refurbishing the existing enclosure (at own cost) or purchasing a replacement enclosure. "Customer Services" representative totally indifferent and advised that they were unable to assist. Have been advised that the rust issue on these enclosures is a common occurrence and that these generators are not specified for outdoor applications (not specified at time of purchase). DO NOT recommend this company as the product supp**** was of an inferior quality and their after sales service is non existent.

I purchased my generator via Generator King: what a terrible experience. Got my quote, when I agreed I asked about stock availability and how long for delivery I was told 3 days once payment reflects. After making payment 1 week later not a word about when I would receive my generator which I did tell the sales guy was super urgent. I had to call to find out when my generator would be delivered. I was then informed for the first time I had to pay an additional R6k for the transport. I was not up for the fight so agreed not that I should have considering it was never mentioned that transportation was an additional cost. Another week passed I add to call in to find out after paying when my generator would be delivered. I was then told they need payment which was done over 2 week prior and sent via email: Then just to add to my frustration the logistics told me maybe the Monday after as logistics had already planned there route. I had to loose my temper to which I was then informed that an opening was now all of a sudden available for the Friday. We installed the generator and now needed the ‘code’ to set the timer. I contacted technical and was informed they not allowed to give us the code but instead I must now pay again an additional +-R6k for someone to come pin in the code. The reason for changing the timer was given to the technical support guy. Once again an invoice was sent. Much to my unhappiness I paid this: that took another week after having to call to find out when the technician was coming. Today to my utmost disgust a diesel mechanic from Generator King appears at our office to come SERVICE my brand new generator: that was the message he was instructed to do. When we told him what we needed, he called his superiors and he was told that the warranty had to expire in order for the code to be changed. I then contacted Generator King and requested to speak to the managing director, instead the receptionist Insisted I tell her what the problem is. I left my details to be contacted and the diesel mechanic did nothing and I want my refund for your ‘Service to my new generator’. I honestly would not recommend Generator King as from day one it was bad customer service.Everyone just passes the buck and no accountability is taken.
