I accompanied my wife to Genesis and from the start to end experienced unsatisfactory service. We had booked upstairs rooms for which previously we were told we can choose to occupy any for the delivery. The first room the nurse took us to was ok, minutes after we were in she said it's too cold and then took us to another room that it's big and door and the bulk bed was exposed to the public when opened. My wife could be seen by anyone on the passage way whenever the door was opened. I kindly asked the nurse who was attending my wife if we can move to another room, as they we plenty of empty rooms upstairs and we were the only ones that were upstairs. She did not take it well and would not even talk back to me. Prior to that the nurse also sent me to walk around all empty rooms to look for a kettle and fill in questionare for my wife and it was the nurses duty. Later in the day we were told my wife contractions have become a weeker. Then they claimed to have given her a medicine to speed up labour, They said they give my wife two hours and if she is not dilated enough they have to do C-section at an extra cost of R30000-R50000. At 10pm same day the doctor wrote a note that my wife should be transferred to another hospital, as she does not have that extra money at hand. We had to look nother hospital in middle of the night. Considering that we arrived same day it's amazing that they were so impatient with my wife. We didn't have to even spend 24hours at the facility. We paid about R30000 for this pathetic service.
