I went to the gong under clothing store in Somerset west, capetown a few minutes ago. I took 2 jeans that were each priced at R150 and R130, however, on the rail itself, they advertised, 2 for R200. I then asked the runner what the correct price was, and she confirmed that you get 2 for R200. I then continued shopping and at another rail, the price advertised was R160, however, when I looked at the price per item, I saw different amounts. I then called the same runner and asked her which item was R160,and she confirmed that only 1 item from a rail with 4 different items. I then went on to pay. When the operator scanned the 1st Jean, she told me that the R150 Jean was now scanning R120 and the other one was scanning R130. At that point, I told her that the board on the rail showed 2fpr R2000, therefore, I should get the jeans for thst amount. She then told me that is not possible, as it could be that another customer placed the jeans in an incorrect rail.i then referred her to the conformation I got from the runner earleir, and pointed to her that the rail opposite that also had jeans and the board on it showed R200 only, and yet, the jeans hanging on that rail had different prices. So I asked her why do they do false advertising, her name was Sharne, and the Jean codes were as follow:669124 & 668160.She then referred me to her supervisor (Thurville) who then said she was going to look for the correct codes at the back office, and she came back with nothing, instead she called someone, assuming that was her manager of headoffice, and in turn, I was told, they cannot give me the jeans for the amounts they are advertised for. I was at the store around 13:20pm today.
