I purchased a car from Q cars in August 2018. They got the car from Norbit Motors. The car looked perfect and I really was sold the dream by Mike - a salesperson with no ethical responsibility. All talk and promises but no actions. However, that is where the dream ended. Firstly, the on the road costs were to include the re-licencing of the car - this was never actioned from Qcars side as the excuse was that they didn't have a residential address for me. (Even though I received an email saying that I would be receiving the new licence disk within a few days.) Then the troubles started, one day while driving ALL the warning lights came on. I immediately took it to Audi who inspected the car and said the wiring and the front right wheel sensor was damaged. I asked how it could have been damaged, assuming I had damaged it, however they informed me that this was accident damage from previously. They also informed me that the car had been in a serious accident. The sensor needed replacing and rewiring so I of course contacted insurance. The assessor came to check out the car and informed me that there was multiple issues with the car. The CV joint had a massive tear, most of the bolts were missing and the car was in a very bad state, and unsafe to drive. I then got a call from my broker who had been in contact with the assessor who had informed them off the record that the car is dangerous to drive. When I purchased the car, it was told to me that there was a small bumper bash on the right side. A small bumper bash vs an accident that most probably resulted in it being a write off is very different. I took the car to another dealer as I wanted to get rid of it immediately, my safety being of top concern. The dealer took the car to another Audi in JHB and was informed that the car had NO Airbags as well as numerous other problems. Obviously not disclosed to me as I would never have purchased a car without airbags. I have read numerous reviews on this and all the stories are the same. the clients are not told that the car was a previous writeoff but a "bank repo" car and they have had a panel beater "fix it" before selling it to an unaware and unsuspecting customer. When contacting them, they told me it was disclosed that it was in an accident and it didn't matter if it was a big or small one (despite the paperwork I signed stating it had only a front right accident). Absouley dispicable that they could take advantage of a female customer and then not take responsibility and what is worse is that should I have had an accident in the car, it would have potentially been fatal due to the lack of airbags. Ethically and morally incorrect. I have contacted the consumer protector as well as the motor industry ombudsman however customers need to stay away from this company who are clearly taking advantage of unsuspecting customers. Between Norbit Motors and Qcars they are both in the wrong and I am going to take this further to ensure that no one else falls for this.
