I am extremely disappointed in the service we got from GP Security, especially during the last 12 months. Our security system was reviewed and received a complete and expensive overhaul about 12 months ago. Most if not all wiring was replaced, and new beams were installed. Inside the house motion detectors were replaced, and the wiring was reviewed and replaced where necessary. We asked for an extra service receiving alerts via telegram and found that we did not always get the notifications in real time. Hence, we had Olarm system installed to arm and disarm our alarm system from anywhere in the world. We also had solar and a battery installed to keep the alarm powered up during load shedding. Every few weeks beams would constantly trigger and 6 months into this exercise we were told the same brand new beams had to be replaced. We thought it was a bit far fetched it agreed since we need the home secured especially when we are not in the area. In April, while we were actually in Leisure Bay on holiday but out to run some errands, a technician let himself into our home without prior notification or permission. GP called me to ask if were were at the house and I confirmed that we were out. I armed the alarm with Olarm and it would immediately be disarmed. Later a gentleman called me back and said that one of their technicians was at the house and they had no idea either. Weird right? The same happened on the 6th of November again and after many attempts to enquire about the circumstances GP failed to give us feedback. At the end of October were had enough of the same beams being triggered all of the time, GP went out, and guess what, they suggested it be replaced - again! 3rd time in a year. Is it due to cheap beams that were installed? Incompetency of technicians? We asked for an independent review of our security system and the company's feedback was that the beams were indeed NOT faulty but only needed fine-tuning. This week we could not access our Olarm system to disarm the alarm and we made the call to send our key holder into the property and disarm from the control panel. Once inside the home, she discovered that the alarm system was without power, and one can only assume that the house would not be secure during load shedding times. The question on my lips here is why was the technician in our home. Why is GP refusing to give us feedback? It is all just a bit strange and even more so since GP security refuses to give us feedback on who the technician was, who the dispatcher was, and why they would not even be aware of the technician being in our home. My opinion here is that GP security cannot be trusted since they have no handle on their technicians and their whereabouts and their communication is the worst. We have gladly decided that we will be moving to a different Security company in Munster and we are looking forward to efficient communication and great service.
