We have spent a week at Grey's Hospital. The doctors and surgeons were great. The nurses do not have the time of day for the patients. On discharge I asked the nurses to remove the piece of the IV drip 3 times. They were not interested. They kept replying we will be there just now. The day after my daughter's surgery there was no hot water to bath. On discharge day (today) we got a script for medicine. We sat on the bed in the ward for going on 3 hours now waiting for the medicine to arrive so we can leave. And still sitting 3 hours later waiting for the last part of the IV drip to be removed.
The nurses here do not even ask how the patient is. They don't communicate. They are merely here for a job and a salary. They have certainly not become nurses because they were kind compassionate people and had an interest in caring for people. Very disappointed in the nursing staff here. The surgeons and anaesthetist were great. I feel sorry for anyone who has to spend time here.
