Greys Ambulance Respondent lady was rude and negligent.
Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to formally express my concern and disappointment regarding an incident that occurred on the 7th of May 2025 today , when I urgently required an ambulance and contacted your hospital for assistance. Despite the severity of the situation, my call for help was not responded to in a timely or appropriate manner. I attempted to reach your emergency services at [10:20am], clearly stating the urgent nature of the medical emergency. Unfortunately, no ambulance was dispatched, and no follow-up communication was made to check on the situation. Instead the woman was rude and hung the phone twice. This lack of response placed me (or the person in need) at serious risk and caused considerable distress. It is deeply troubling that a healthcare institution could fail in such a critical responsibility. I am seeking a formal explanation as to why my call was ignored or mishandled, and what steps your hospital is taking to prevent such incidents in the future. I would appreciate a prompt investigation into this matter and a written response outlining your findings and proposed actions. Thank you for your attention. Grey's Hospital Pietermarizburg -Nurses
We have spent a week at Grey's Hospital. The doctors and surgeons were great. The nurses do not have the time of day for the patients. On discharge I asked the nurses to remove the piece of the IV drip 3 times. They were not interested. They kept replying we will be there just now. The day after my daughter's surgery there was no hot water to bath. On discharge day (today) we got a script for medicine. We sat on the bed in the ward for going on 3 hours now waiting for the medicine to arrive so we can leave. And still sitting 3 hours later waiting for the last part of the IV drip to be removed. The nurses here do not even ask how the patient is. They don't communicate. They are merely here for a job and a salary. They have certainly not become nurses because they were kind compassionate people and had an interest in caring for people. Very disappointed in the nursing staff here. The surgeons and anaesthetist were great. I feel sorry for anyone who has to spend time here.

I would like to report the maintenance department at the Greys hospital in petermaridzburg, the nurses campus for women is extremely filthy, bathrooms are stinking and dirty and bugs all over the rooms, why do people have to live under such unhygienic conditions and why are they paying rent of R900 at a government hospital, who is the money going to because this is a ripoff and doesn’t sound legit, is it one of those ANC tenders, I am asking for you to investigate and resolve this filthy living conditions, this is pathetic and unacceptable, someone has to be held accountable
