False Credit Default Listing – Injury on Duty (COIDA) Account Incorrectly Listed I am reporting an ******** ITC/default listing placed against my name for medical services arising from an Injury on Duty (IOD).
The treatment was work-related and falls under the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA). In terms of the Act, liability for medical costs rests with the Compensation Fund, not with the injured employee. I did not incur a personal debt, nor did I enter into any credit agreement.
The hospital and surgeon submitted their claims directly to the Department of Labour, and the account was paid in full. I have provided documentary proof Despite this, an ITC/default listing was recorded against my name. Any allegation that the service provider was not informed of the IOD claim does not create personal liability and cannot lawfully justify a credit listing.
I have formally disputed the listing and requested its removal. To date, the matter remains unresolved.
