I recently purchased a new “Tigo Cross 1.5L Elite DCT” at the “Group1 Chery Mossel Bay” Dealership, this letter is to raise my disappointment in the service I received at both the Mossel Bay Dealership and their Main Branch in George. Malcolm Rheeder, the Sales Executive, accompanied me on a test drive of the vehicle, during the test drive I stated my interested in purchasing a Chery Cross, I requested for the same Model and Color (Moonlight Silver) to be ordered as the vehicle I was test driving already had milage on the clock. Malcolm later came back to me and informed me that no stock was available in their Group in the color I had requested but assured me that I had been the second person to test drive the available Chery Cross, I then decided to purchase the vehicle as there was no stock available at that time. I signed the offer to purchase the said vehicle on the 26th of May 2025 with the following Chery Cross accessories to be added to the purchase, Towbar Mud Flaps (Full Set) Boot mat The Invoiced amount of R453 241,65 was settled in full on the 28th of May 2025. I took receipt the Chery Cross 29th of May 2025 after the following had been completed, Pre delivery inspection had been performed. licensing and registration. Smash and Grab. The vehicle was handed over to me by Jarryd Behrens as Malcolm was in hospital at the time of delivery. At the time of delivery, the following defects were noticed, reported, and noted by Jarryd, Scratching on the right-hand side Main Head Light Lense. On the afternoon of 30th of May 2025 it was noticed 4 Chinese Characters imprinted on the right side of the windscreen, also a fine misting/frosting spray was present on the full windscreen, this was reported to, inspected and noted by Jarryd. It was also reported to and noted By Jarryd that the Smash and Grab was defective in some places. As I had to travel to Johannesburg on the 1st of June Jarryd agreed that all noted defects would be corrected and resolved after my return form Johannesburg on the 18th of June 2025. Jarryd also informed me that there was no stock available for the Towbar, Mud Flaps and Boot Mat, he stated that Chery George would order the accessories and do the fitment thereof. It was agreed that the fitment of the accessories would be performed at Chery George after my return to Mossel Bay on the 18th of June 2025. Malcolm notified me that an appointment had been secured with Chery George for Tuesday 24th of June 2025 to perform the fitment of the mentioned accessories and the correction of the reported defects. Malcom collected the vehicle on the morning of the 24th of June 2025 and drove it through to George for the fitment of the accessories and correction of the mentioned defects. The vehicle was returned to me on the 26th of June 2025 with only the towbar fitted, not sure if the correct towbar has been fitted (see photograph), Malcom also stated that Chery George had ordered accessories for a Tigo Pro 4 and not for a Chery Cross. I am not a happy customer at this time, I purchased a NEW vehicle, but I’ve encountered numerous issues and still await the following to be resolved, The front windscreen has now become a Warranty Issue, how long will issue take to resolve. Smash and grab is still defective and needs to be corrected. Still awaiting the delivery and fitment of the Mus Flaps and Boot Mat! This is the second Chery Vehicle I have purchased, and I can state that this Chery experience has left me unhappy and wondering if it is worth the money spent. Regards, Amelia Lincoln
