Defy is doing all the queries of Grundig fridges! We bought a fridge/freezer the we believed was a very good product, it is also very expensive! We pay R27 000 for it on 31 Aug 2022! We replaced the compressor in June 2025 and in November it does not make very cold and the heat signal is on the screen! At that time the fridge was just over 3 years old! After numerous emails a technician respond after 4 weeks just before Christmas and said that the fridge loose gas! This is unacceptable to have this two complains within the first 3 years of the product! We asked for a replacement and Defy refuge! They also do not respond easily on emails and you have to call them and mail them continuously! This is the most poor service that we ever received! After paying R27 000 for a Grundig fridge it is totally insane!

Worts experience ever, called the call centre they stated I must send pictures to there WhatsApp line. Its 2 days later and still no feedback, i have followed up, called the number again with no luck again “ I cant help you “. Will not recommend this product line for anyone. Paid 30k for Fridge Freezer with no service from manufacturer.

My fancy Grundig fridge cost me a bucket but I had so many problems, at this stage I just want someone to come and remove it from my house. I would remove it myself if itwas not as heavy. The ice maker has been repaired on two occasions and currently does not work. The fridge makes such a load noise that I almost cannot hear anything else. This nosie goes on for hours and suddenly stops without warning or apperent reason. At least 3 technicianals came around to look at the problem but as it is something not happening continuosly,(it comes and goes without warning) they were not able to do anything. One technician thoughg he had the answer but brought the wrong replacement spares on 2 occasions and disspaeared never to return. The last person thought I was an idiot and in different words called me a liar because it was not making noise when he was here, even. Ive had it.

Bought a dishwasher and tumble drier, dishwasher got repaired twice, still not washing clean and the tumble drier needs to run for 4hours, and the motor packed up after three years, the most useless products ever. Cheap defi is much better

How I wish I had read all these reviews about Grundig before I purchase the gas hob and oven, We have been having a issue with the oven for months, brand new oven, tried to use it and the door fell off, I am totally disgusted with their service which of course is DEFY, so both these these brands are not worth spending your hard earned cash on, problem is still not resolved. They have the worse service technicians,

Grundig, premium prices, good products, pathetic support for product failure. Grundig subcontracts repairs to Defy. Defy subcontracts the repairs to independent contractors. Completely disorganised, no feed back, no spares, unkept promises The only cer*****y is that you will be frustrated and have to wait much longer than you expect. And then wait some more. In hindsight it would have served me better to have bought a cheap machine and when it breaks just replace it with another cheap machine. Ans still have change. Such a pity that while the product is good the employees destroy the brand.

Absolutely horrible customer service. The motor of the washing machine broke just after the 2 year mark. The warranty kicks in and now no sign of Grundig , their parts , customer care or even feedback on the estimated arrival / fitment of the part. It has been going on two months without a word from them . I keep sending messages on their website and still no response , try their customer care line and no response. Pathetic , don't ever buy anything from them. Rather stick to other Good quality brands. Lesson learnt.

We have a Grundig fridge, serviced by Defy. We contacted Grundig on 3.12.2020. They passed us onto Defy who services their appliances. An inspection of our fridge was carried out on 07/12/2020. As we have a FIVE year warranty on this fridge we expected the fridge to be replaced. They maintain they will only repair the element which has rusted and caused all sorts of problems in our fridge including icing up and horrible rust marks internally. Since the 7th December 2020, we have been unable to contact the service manager at Defy, Lucas or his superior, Danny as they do not answer their phones and have no answering service available. We have been left totally in the dark with promises of return calls but this never happens. We now no longer have a fridge as it is not working. SHAME on you Defy/Grundig for the worst service ever. I have always been a very loyal supporter of DEFY appliances but would not recommend this company or ever buy a Defy appliance every again.
