Stressful and Costly Mistake

I would strongly caution anyone considering buying a car from this dealership. Within 24 hours of purchasing my vehicle, it broke down, yet I was not allowed to return it despite being within the cooling-off period. In the first month alone, the car went back to them four times. Since then, I’ve had to take it to a mechanic every month since.

I was told that I was simply being “panicky” because I had previously been in a car accident. That was incredibly dismissive. The reality is that this car has been unreliable and unsafe from the start. Definitely not what was portrayed when I test drove the vehicle.

On top of that, the vehicle is financed, which makes this an even more stressful nightmare — I’m paying instalments on a car I can’t trust, plus the constant cost of repairs. Essentially, I’m paying double every month just to keep it going.

I’ve been left stranded on the highway alone, which is terrifying as a woman in South Africa. The car is unreliable. Less than a year later, I’m already back on the market looking for another car. This dealership has made what should have been an exciting purchase into one of the most stressful experiences of my life.
