There's a Native American proverb about two wolves that live inside us: one is dark, representing all that is bad like anger, envy, greed, and sorrow. The other is white, embodying all that is good like joy, peace, love, hope, and kindness. These two wolves are constantly battling within us. The question is, which one wins? The answer is: the one you feed.
I’d all but lost my wolf to the black wolf (those who know, know). I gave my wolf an ultimatum to attend Healing Wings, or have him sectioned, or cut him off financially 100%. The hardest decision I ever made. The best decision I ever made.
I have my white wolf back. He’s gonna have to keep feeding that white wolf, nothing good comes easy, but the difference between the wolf I sent into Healing Wings, compared to the wolf that came out, is night and day and black and white.
Also, I always thought that these long-term rehabs would cost the same as the 3-week rehabs per month, and therefore this choice was unattainable. It's a lot more obtainable than R60k for 3 weeks. :)
It’s not a yoga retreat, no. It’s hard work – spiritually and physically. Chad is an exceptional counsellor, and everyone else on the team is amazing. My wolf ate well, learnt so many skills, came out fit and smiling and fresh. Thank you!
Remember Momma Wolves, if you're enabling the wolf, you're half the problem. I wish I'd had the courage to do this years ago, and if you're reading this and needing courage, this is your sign to just do it.
