I contacted Hengro to ask for a quotation to have my pool painted with epoxy paint. I was contacted by the contractor in our area and he came out and gave a quotation to re-marbelite the pool, fix a small crack and paint the pool with the epoxy paint. I did not want to have any warranty / guarantee problems afterwards, so I did not even ask for another quotation. I paid the deposit and the work started. After a few hiccups the pool was done. The only task left was for the contractor to remove the + - 1 ton of old marbelite which he chipped out of the old pool. He only came months later to clean up his mess. Then the Hengro epoxy paint started making bubbles within months after installation. It started peeling shortly after, where it was supposed to last 10 years. After quite a hassle to get hold of the contractor I was told that he will come and have a look “next week.” That “next week” was months and months ago without him showing up, and with no communication from him. I then contacted Hengro and explained the situation. After quite a hassle they eventually came out to have a look, and took a sample of the peeling paint. They immediately said that it was an installation fault and that I must take it up with the contractor, and even suggested that I take the contractor to the small claims court. Just to be clear, this is the same contractor that Hengro sent me and advised me to use. When I tried to contact the contractor, I was informed that he closed the business and my guarantee / warranty was also gone. I then requested a test certificate from Hengro to confirm that the batch of paint used in my pool was up to standard. I also requested a report of the sample of paint taken from my pool. I did not even get a reply. My own lawyers informed me that my “contract” is with the contractor, and Hengro cannot be held liable. Be very careful before you do business with Hengro.
