We approached Grip Anti-slip in Cape Town in April 2019 for a quotation stating we had procelain black and white tiles around our pool and required an anti-slip product be applied to the tiles. Sharon Hawes gave me a quotation and we set a date for the 26th September. At no stage was she hesitant to apply the Johnson's anti slip to the tiles and repeatedly phoned me to set a date to apply the heritage product. As the tiles were black and white, two different products had to be applied to each colour. She basically applied each tile individually but stepped on the white tiles and then onto the black leaving her footprints and finger marks all over the tiles. This in itself was not evident at the time as the tiles were in shade, but once full sunlight was on the tiles, the marks could be seen and were badly ruined. She came back the next day to try and remedy the situation but to no effect. During this time, I "tested" the tiles and slipped badly in front of her. She recommended taking a sample of the tiles with her to see if she could find the right product, but I never heard from her again for another few weeks. On follow up, she had referred me to another agent (who at the time said he had no affiliation to her) and he recommended a site visit. It was only after the site visit that I realized this was husband and wife.
When Glenn Hawes came on site, the first thing he said was he would never have taken on a black and white tiling job as each tile had to be blocked off and each colour was supposed to be treated seperately. He said he would recommend from Sharon Hawes that a full fefund be made and also offered a cleaning agent that said it might fade the tile markings. However, even with the refund and the tile cleaning material, the tiles are now ruined.
I approached Manual da Costa from Heritage products to see if there was any way to fix the ruined tiles and he sent an email back saying "this matter is now resolved". No apology and no resolution.
The tiling cost us a huge amount of money, first laying the concrete slab, then buying the tiles and getting a tiler to do the work. This was our pride and joy and this company has totally ruined our once amazing feature.
