I too my car to ND 56971, a Toyota Corolla to Holtz Motors , 156 West St, Pietermaritzburg since the engine gave up on the road. Discussing options with Danie, the Garage owner, he discouraged me from the idea of buying a used imported engine and advised that he can fix by overhauling the current engine. The car was with him for almost 4 months mentioning some issues that he needed to fix on his own (Removed the car from the workshop to his house) – When I complained about the cost of hiring the vehicles that I was using he then declared that he is finished with the car. I paid him and collected the which could not drive smoothly on steep hills. I reported this to him on the same day and he advised me to return the car but when reversing, I noticed a pool of oil that leaked overnight and asked him to come and tow the car. These incidents happened for 3 to 4 times, colleting the car, keeping is for few weeks, ask me to fetch it and get the same faults which were not limited to oil leaks, no power, high rev when idling ‘hot’ WHICH WAS STRANGE AS HE CLAIMED TO HAVE REPLACED ALL ENGINE PARTS WITH BRAND NEW ONES. Whenever the car was with him, I was compelled to hire the car to use. On the last episode I advised him that I was going to take the car to a different mechanic for the second opinion ang proper fixing which he sarcastically agreed upon and confirmed that he is prepared to pay for the new repairs if any. I then took the car to Hillstar Motors in Johnson Lane, Durban – gave them the previous mechanic contact details in order to get the repairs history but his responses were not useful so the engine was stripped again and repaired accordingly – has been running smooth and even feeling as if the Engen was ‘advanced’ They provided a list of issues that were incorrectly done in the engine some caused by the way he worked the engine. He even fitted double gaskets on the cylinder head. I then communicated the cost for the new repairs, asking him to at least meet me half-way he told me that he was not paying a single cent. All I need is a refund of what I paid to Danie of Holtz Motors as I had to pay another R30 000 for fixing his mess on the engine, not even incorporating the costs of hiring vehicles whilst waiting for his repairs

I purchased a Holts product Ultimoil Interior Dazzle UDAZ3 at a premium to other products from Sheen .The cannister doesn't have gas in hence it can't spray........I phoned the customer care service ********** .The person in the department assured me that the sales rep would contact me within a few hours..........I'm still waiting . Why display a customer care line on your product if you don't respond

I am wanting to find out what is going on with Holtsauto in South Africa. I live in East London and have been trying for over 2 months to get more of the Auto Spray Paint (HWH105) and (L101C). The local shops (Midas) that stock the range keep telling me that the salesperson for the area has not been for over two months. I am in the middle of touching up my car and need to finish the job. It boggles my mind that any company can be this slack in these difficult times. I have tried the website but that only has a phone number for Johannesburg. I overheard someone at Midas saying that they may not be stocking the range. What do I do now as I don't want to use another brand as the colour may be different.

Gert Munro of Holts Motors in PMB had my car for 3 full days, claiming to be replacing brakes, cambelt, having wheel alignment done, fixing an oil leak, working on my gearbox, sorting out a knocking noise on front right hand side of the car.... on the third day I was told everything was fixed and the car was safe to drive. When I asked for invoices/proof of the repairs I was told that being a single mom he felt he could not charge me for the repairs and said it was a gift. I was very grateful and asked again if I could possibly pay the amount off but he refused, said I didn't owe Holts Motors a cent.

I've been driving this car for almost a month now and noticed a heavy oil leak recently. I took it in to another workshop and was given a list of problems which included a dangerously well worn cambelt and other items which Gert Munro had assured me he had repaired.

When I ask Gert Munro for invoices he doens't respond to my messages.

I find it disgusting that someone can lie to such an extent that the safety of a single mom and a 7year old girl are put at risk.... If this is the ethic of Holts Motors then I would not recommend anyone uses their workshop - not even to fix a lawnmower.

Very disappointed and disgusted - what kind of person does such a thing?
