In 2019 I bought a brand new Honda Amaze. A car for me to retire with. A month after purchase I discovered a rust spot on the inside of the front drivers door. I took it to Cape Town office asking for a new car, which was refused. Instead they came out as I stood waiting, buffed it, put some treatment on it and that was that. Shortly afterwards my car was covered with pin head rust spots.... it was taken in and auto armnour did a buffing treatment of the car. At 4 years old the car was taken in by Honda cape town with rust all over the car from the doors, body, under the spare wheel and multiple in the engine were treated , and the car painted. A year later I am sitting with 3 small chips which are solidly rusting and a newly discovered rust spot on the side of the boot lid. I have been told by honda cape town that the spots were caused by chipping of the paint were not their concern.
I have been the prowd owner of numerous cars over the span of my life, and have never had a car that rusts like this one, even with chips. I have been told by a numer of people in the industry that these are India produced cars , and they are renowned for rusting!!!
Where does that leave me? With a rust bucket of a car, that seems to chip when you look at it, questionable paintwork, and priming. And poor back up service. I have retired and facing a quote of R11000 to fix 3 pin head chips, though that will increase with the addition of the boot lid spot found.
My reason for writing this, to warn anyone that may be considering buying a Honda Amaze made in India.
