After extensive attempts to resolve matters directly with Unicity Realty, I remain without firm enforcement, clear timelines, or documentary proof for decisions affecting my property. A neighbouring tree continues to overhang into my yard and deposit debris, yet the responsible owner has merely been “advised” and no compliance date or enforcement step has been communicated. At the same time, I have been told that a tree inside my yard must be removed because the municipality allegedly requires it. However, no municipal notice, expert report, or written instruction has been produced to substantiate this claim. Further, photographs appear to have been taken from within my yard without my consent. I have asked for clarity on who entered and under what authority, but I have not received adequate answers. I have also requested access to trustee resolutions, minutes, contractor instructions, and the rules re**** upon. Transparency is essential in a community scheme, yet obtaining the governance trail has proven difficult. Given the ongoing uncer*****y, I am now preparing to escalate the matter formally to the Community Schemes Ombud Service. In addition, I am considering referral to the Property Practitioners Regulatory Authority regarding the conduct and administrative handling of the matter, and to the National Consumer Commission insofar as a paid management service may not be rendered with due care and skill. I remain willing to resolve the issue constructively, but without evidence, accountability, and proper enforcement, external intervention appears unavoidable.

We have rented a property from Unicity for the last 4 years. We have reported on numerous occasions the problem's with the house. One being an electrical fault. Nothing has been done about it for the last 3 years. Today when I got home my whole house was with out power. After phone the agent, they sent out a handyman and not an electrician. The Handyman told us he can not fix the problem seeing that he is not an electrician. After phone the agent numerous time and answering eventually he just told me sorry he can do nothing the owner did not approve an electrician to come to the house. I have no hot water, no lights no plug. My kids Gr12, Gr11 and Gr9 has exams tomorrow. The agents does not care. Do not want to send someone because of overtime fees. No regards for the fact that this was reported for the last 3 years and now that a small fault grew into a huge fault is now our problem.

Renting has been a nightmare. My son rented for not even 3 months was retrenched in April of 2022. He has been through hell and back, tried to find a replacement tenant as he signed a lease for a year completely oblivious he would be laid off. His first rental. Gave notice due to unemployment. Lost his WHOLE DEPOSIT for alleged damages, to the property left by a previous tenant, yet he is billed, is on the app on their records. R4950 approx for their alleged damages. He did not put a sibgle nail into a wall or change and or damage anything. They are billed for ludicrous things. Cracked tiles where the crack is running simultaneously across the floor, coukd be foundation, movement, storm water damage etc. Damp in the walls where is tgat tenants issue? That is a poor structural issue and or leak or foundatiin crack from seepage. The list can go on. They go oyt and oyt to ensure you NEVER see yoyr deposit. WHERE IS YOUR INTEREST?? You are entitled to intetest in a intetest bearibg account yoy are entitled to the intetest gained thereof. That is not even nade mention of. The agent does not take tge time to educate our younger generation to let them understand tge importance of lookibg after a property and its repercussions if not done. I am so angered from my sons continual harrassment, for money he does not owe claimed over R9000 in damages. Took his R5600 deposit added R175 for depositadmin plus someone elses damages who never fixed what was promised. The inspection before and after moving in and out are not forthcoming to do the comparison R175 charged for deposit admin fee after they already claimed R1500 for early cancellation fee. If that was not enough in his second month they took two installments from him he had no food or petrol for weeks. Their excuses just kept coming, this is not an ethical and reliable company. With so much corruption etc you would think companies would ensure they look after their clients. My son has been exploted, humiliated and treated infairly, billed for someone elses damages with a year of excuses. Exploited, unfairly treated, harrassed bullied for exorbitant costs, and as I read reviews can see he is one if many that have experienced the same treatment. WHERE IS OUR RENTAL TRIBUNAL their cobtract is so badly written with all the hifaluted jargon you need a mastersdegree to decioher it or the assistance of an attorney .TRUST is not an escape!! They cannot be trusted have no empathy ir integrity. I woukd apoeal to every single person who has been wronged by them to stand up lodge a complaint but better still go pay DEVI a vidit she will chew them up fir breakfast

I was a good tenant for 2 & half years from during the hard lock down. I paid my rent timeously without any excuses. When I moved out, the agency is coming up with hideous things that they want to charge . A chip on the door is costing me over R700 to fix. Thats buying a new door. A small scratch on the wall ( i wish i could post pictures) is costing me over R800 to fix. This is excluding transport. After spending a fortune to find someone to paint the place before I vacated the property and fixed some of the areas that was natural causes due to the water damage that is experienced by all units in the complex. I moved out on the last day of November 2022 and still waiting for my deposit to be paid, due to an employee who arrogantly says she forgot to send my details to finance to pay. It is now the 3rd January 2023 and wondering when will I be paid back my deposit. see breakdown of my deposit Deposit R 9433.44 > Early cancellation fees R 1500.00 > Exit inspection fees R 405.00 > Deposit processing fee R 350.00 > Repairs for your account R 1500.00 > > R 5678.44, please send your bank details. This is ridiculous.

I would not recommend this estate agency. My family had an awful experience with them and their staff, all of whom are rude and dishonest. They are truly unsavoury and unprofessional and employ very underhanded tactics. They did not want to refund our deposit after we moved out even though we did not cause any damage. We paid rental every month on time without fail and tried to maintain what was a dilapidated flat. They tried to bamboozle us and did not give us the time of day in trying to resolve the matter. We were left with no choice but to appoint attorneys, who helped us take the agency to the rental housing tribunal to get our deposit back. Eight months after vacating we finally got our deposit back in full with interest through the legal route. It has been an awful and protracted experience, I would hate for anyone else to go through this. Please avoid this agency if you can.
