Make no mistake. IBTC is a business and not an educational institution. It may depend on what courses you have registered for. But their goal is to make money, and not the wellbeing of your education or training. You pay R13 000 a year to receive text books and assessment papers, which they mark and return to you, and they arrange your exam entry. That is all. There is no tutoring, or guidance or personalised assistance as stated initially. YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN!
You ask questions in emails, they are not answered. They do not read their emails and respond accordingly. You ask for help, you are told to go and get further reading material then what was provided, as essentially the text book provided is not the ONLY source of information for your subjects, and it is up to you to gain as much knowledge as possible for your exams. All fair and well....... so why do I pay R13 000 a year for this service?
The information packs are incorrect, as one of the other reviews stated. It advises you to study modules 1 to 3 for assessment one. But the questions in assessment one have questions pertaining to all the modules in the text book.
You are advised to simulate exam like settings for the assessments, then the questions are, find an adverti*****t and answer the following questions. From where should I have found the adverti*****t, if I am simulating an exam like setting.
I am doing my third year now. I have had to adapt and become accustomed to figuring things out on my own. I also do their annual review link sent out at the end of every year, explaining the difficulties. Yet each year nothing changes.
I will be glad once this is done and dusted. If you are self-determined and can work a full-time job and study unsupervised and NOT need any tutoring and guidance. And you do not expect to get distinctions for your subjects. Then by all means take this route.
Have a great day!
