Me and some of my colleagues we opened a club savings account at this bank in 2019. Everything was fine for the past years. Every year in November we withdraw the money. It all started in 2024 that they requested the club constitution, minutes and other documents. We had to go there with all the necessary documents but every time they turned us away saying it's not correct. They don't even take what is correct. Those ladies there have a bad attitude. Now they are telling us that we will not get the money until we send all the documents I will never do transactions with them again. If the documents were not submitted why are they not rejecting the payments made to the account. The bank shouldn't have accepted our money in the first place because we have not submitted the necessary documents. Now that we want our money they are telling us all this. I am not happy with how this bank do things.

If I could put negative 0 star cause that what this bank deserves. I relocated from Durban to Jhb and when I went last month I only had my drivers License and the lady at help desk turned me away. Even when I explained I have my drivers License and I do have a copy of my ID she was rude and not having it. I even asked at least can I get help with setting up internet banking since I stay in Jhb and do not know when I will be in durban again, still she said no and just turned me away from the door. Like what kind of customer service is that. Now just because they do not have branches in JHB I can not be helped. If this is how you treating us young customers, I wonder how you'll are treating our elderly

I'm receiving SPAM SMS's from your bank. I don't bank with you. I received this now: "Dear Client, Ithala is open and operates normally to serve you. Your deposits are safe, and you can continue to transact through all our channels. Ithala is an authorised FSP No.17139". Stop the SMS's.

My late sister was a guardian for our niece, my niece was receiving forster care from SASSA and my sister was saving some of this money for future purposes. Whenever we want to buy something for my niece like clothes, school uniform and station we had to go to SASSA to request a letter stating why we need money and what do we want to do with it and submit the letter to ithala bank in order to receive the money. In 2022 my niece was 18 years and we were advised that his account will be under his name and we no longer need any letter from SASSA social workers if we need moneynand that letter was scanned and sent to ithala, my sister passed away last year and the file was transferred from SASSA Jozini to SASSA emaweleni (emaweleni) at that time we were trying to apply for foster care money because he was still studying but unfortunately the file delayed and we couldn't. We went to Ithala to request for money they said we must go to social workers to request for the letter, I had to take leave to sort this out. SASSA at Jozini advised that we no longer need that letter coz he is over 18 and no longer receive the forster care, SASSA emaweleni Umlazi offices advised that they are waiting for his file meaning he was not officially under this office. Took leave again went to ithala Kwa Mnyandu, I explained my situation and they assisted us and we were able to get the money. My niece went there they didn't assist, they request for the same letter, I called them the lady and explained what happened last time, spoke to the manager who was speaking over me, not listening to me they said I must call Jozini SASSA. I'm angry and very disappointed with their service. I have to take leave and go there to explain one and the same thing over and over again!!!!!!

I'm so disappointed with the service I received from iThala Bank Kwa Mnyandu, I explained my situation to them which is regarding my nephew who was receiving forster care money. I was told that I must call Jozini Branch because that's where his account was opened. I really don't understand why they couldn't assist because the paper work was scanned and I'm tired of repeating one and the same thing whenever my nephew needs his money. He is over 18 now and was given permission by social workers to handle his finances, a letter was sent to ithala bank stating that we no longer need a letter from social workers. earlier this year I had to take leave to accompany him I explained everything to the lady who was assisting us and she was able to assist and we were able to get money. But on Friday when he went there they failed to assist him, I called them and I was told that they need a letter from social workers, I explained to the lady the situation, she insisted that she won't be able to assist my nephew. I asked for the manager and I was told that the manager is busy but she will give me a call. Indeed the manager called me but she was not willing to listen and told me the same thing that they won't assist my nephew, we must call Jozini. I was really not happy with the attitude I received from the manager, instead of calming down the situation she made it worse!!!!
