I've been enrolled in the bachelor of electrical engineering program with mixed experiences. Due to my work schedule I was not able to attend an in-class university and appreciated the fact that the program can be completed entirely online/ remotely, which is a great advantage. Some difficulties arise as writing formula heavy exams can be challenging, but the university has been understanding and accomodating. My experience with professors and tutors has been very positive (for the most part), as they are approachable, and very willing to help. I would gauge the level of instruction and the difficulty of the exams appropriate.
There are two major concerns: As the IU is owned by a private equity company it does appear that courses are being offered pre-maturely to quickly generate income, hence with incomplete and flawed scripts as well as incomplete course material. This has led to a lot of frustration as understanding certain formulas can be challenging just to find out that the script itself is incorrect. Instructors inform students that basically more support would be required to fix all the mistakes but it appears the university is not allowing for an appropriate budget. Also, it does appear that support offerings are profit driven, as live sessions are offered only sporadically for smaller courses. Live lectures are either not available at all or offered only sporadically and recordings are quickly being deleted. As a result students are left to sort through challenging and incomplete scripts with little guidance in an ambitious time frame.
If you are in for a challenge with frustrating moments and are bound to study remotely, the IU is an option. However, being aware of the downsides is crucial prior to embarking on this journey. Luckily youtube offers lectures from other providers to help sift through content.
