My partner and I walked into the canal walk branch in search of an engagement ring and we were greeted by this lovely, warm person named Dolly. What an amazing experience. The jewellery is absolutely stunning and the quality of service was just the cherry on top. Dolly really made our moment so much more special. We left the store with a beautiful ring and an experience that we will remember and cherish forever.

Purchased a ring (R77k) from JF Jewellers at Waterfront and still waiting on the detailed certificate confirming the quality and amount of stones in it or type of alloy used, as well as it missing the written guarantee. In other words, we have no proof of the ring is genuine or ****. Very poor service, because we have notified and asked for these docs over and over. Always excuses and nothing gets done. Worried and stressed that we may have wasted that much money on a poorly made ring.

We bought my wedding band at Jack Fredman Jewellers Eastgate. It was the perfect size, so there was no need for resizing. However, they were willing to resize it if I felt uncomfortable with the fit. I gained weight, which made the ring uncomfortably tight. I went back to have it resized. The consultant didn’t take the time to properly assess my band. She simply looked at it and said, “It won’t be possible to stretch it,” but they still took it in to be cleaned and refined. My question is, why was it possible to resize the ring when I first bought it, but now, years later, resizing is no longer an option? We also asked how we could address the issue since I can no longer wear it. Even if it meant they took it back for resale and gave me a discount to purchase a new band, they couldn’t assist. Now, I’m left with a wedding band that is no longer useful to me

After being highly recommended this company and being told I'd be treated with respect. I have received nothing but absolute disgust treatment. I recommend people stay away from this company, they are full of excuses, you are not allowed to go to a store and purchase the pieces you want to buy, until they do a video call and you have shown your bank balance before they provide service to you. They use a excuse that it's a legal situation. A legal situation can be given for how you discriminate customers. This company is degrading and staff has no customer respect and service. How do they degrade customers is absolutely disgusting, and this company should not be operating.

Good Day. I have never felt so discriminated and degraded in my life. I was recommended this company as I was very interested in a few items. I simply requested a time to go it to a store to purchase the items I am interested in. The service stopped. This store wants me to go via video calls and expect proof of identification before I can go into purchase pieces of jewellery. This is degrading to a customer. If the company wants to see who I really am and so that I can purchase some jewellery the assistant could of given me a time for me to come into the store as I need to notify my driver to take me. However no, they are discriminative, and they say it's a legal issue, is this how all clientele is treated? Such a highly rated jewellery store. Out of the blue, the items I'm ready to purchase which I could have had in my possession and have them on the way home is all of a sudden sold. This is embarrassing and degrading, how dare they treat a customer like this, I could of been in and paid for my interested pieces. I am a professional business woman and for a company who says they pride themselves in customer service to treat a client like this is a embarrassment, do not understand how they can have staff that do not give a client service as well as a company itself to treat a customer like such. I honestly do feel sorry for the next client to be treated as such.

I would like to warn others of a potential ****. I was approached by Jack Friedman Jewellers and asked to be what they call a mystery shopper. I had to meet them at a shopping centre, wear glasses with a camera and play a role in which they test their staff. For this they offer a R750 payment for your time, travel and parking. You also need to fill in a report afterwards, I did all of the above and once the report was submitted there was silence. Suddenly no response to email or what’s apps where we had previously corresponded. I tried to contact them for 2 weeks afterwards and then wrote a complaint on here (Hello Peter) within a few hours of doing so I was suddenly contacted on the what’s app number and email to say they apologise and would be paying me immediate which they did. There after they reported my review as being false. I have there for removed the reported review and rewritten this to reflect the updated situation as clearly had I not written this review I wouldn’t have been paid. It’s not a huge amount and had I not been paid it wouldn’t have broken the bank but I am absolutely shocked that a brand such as this conducted them selves in this way. Its really shameful. Pleased I got my money but to have to go to these lengths is shameful Jack Friedman jewellers !

I was approached by Jack Friedman Jewellers and asked to be a mystery shopper, which was a new concept to me. They asked me to wear glasses with a camera and pose as a shopper with a few mandated requests. I drove from 45 mins away to meet them for this on a very busy weekend for me and the agreement was that I would be paid R750 for this. And to send them a form back with further comments on the experience and my bank details which I have. I have sent it to the HR lady, Ashley who approached me for this. Tanya who I believe is the manager at the Sandton branch and Marina the Cape Town owner also met me. Iv tried contacting everyone of them since, on emails and numbers that we used to arrange this and have now been ghosted by all involved. I am quite shocked that a brand like this would be engaging in ****s. Just wanted to warn others in case you are approached. I will see how and where I can report this to protect other consumers too.
