Severe Customer Service Failure – JD Sports Highveld Mall, Emalahleni

On 21 December 2025 at approximately 08:15, I visited JD Sports at Highveld Mall, Emalahleni with the intention of making a purchase. I was the only customer in the store at the time.

Two staff members were behind the counter engaged in a personal conversation. I greeted them and waited, yet I was completely ignored. No assistance was offered, and their conversation continued as if no customer was present.

I walked around the store unassisted and could not find the item and colour I was looking for. As I was preparing to leave, one staff member finally approached, asked if I needed assistance, and after I confirmed, simply said “sorry” without attempting to assist further.

Several customers entered the store after me and received the same lack of greeting and assistance. This indicates a broader issue with customer service standards and store management.

As a JD Sports store operating under the TFG group, this experience is unacceptable. I am requesting urgent management intervention and feedback on what corrective steps will be taken.
