My wife and I bought a 2017 BMW from Kaloo motors on the 17.4.2025 and was promised that the car was in great condition which it is rightfully so. Not long after taking collection of the car i notices some stuff that i was not happy about and questioned it, namely the lighter port not working, the car having scratches on it that i never seen when viewing the car, the USB port not working and the full service history records of the car being missing since it was advertised and bought as having FSH. This then told me that the car was not inspected upon delivery which i questioned. I was dealing with Abdullah who showed me the car and who sold me the car, himself and Mimi done the paper work. I waited long for the Service History to be found which eventually they found and sent to me. I subsequently noticed that the rear driver passenger door does not lock when you lock the car with the key which i also brought to their attention. These things they took the car in for and replaced these things. I then noticed that the car has no jack, tyre pump or nut spanner which Abdullah at first gave me a story saying these cars don't come with these things in it. I should buy them separately but then he supp**** me with the jack and wheel spanner as i already bought my own electric tyre pump. The following weekend while my wife is on her way to PTA the car breaks down with a Water Pipe burst it being the Oil Cooler Filter housing. I needed to out of my pocket pay for the towing service to get the car to Kaloo's mechanic and was left without a car for a few days. Kaloo sorted it out at no cost to me. Exactly a week after that on the 23 May 2025 i received a error on the cluster saying - Cruise Control Failure. The car this time is back to Kaloo but now they give a curtesy car. Car is there for 5 days now. Get the car back and all is well. The Paint scratches was not completely removed but then i noticed that they guy who came to apply the paint rubbed something on the car but then scratched the bonnet of the car which i just left otherwise the car will be there again for longer. On the 4th June 2025 we get a Bill from Kaloo Motors saying they put through a claim on our Extended Warranty Policy for the value of R10766.01 for the Steering Spiral housing that was replaced by them. They never told us 1stly that they going to put through a claim on our policy which is *****, if we knew that we were going to be liable for the cost we would taken the car straight to BMW for this part and fitment because we have a policy that covers these things and lastly according the the Consumer Protection Act - When buying a car from a dealership in South Africa, the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) provides several protections for the buyer, including an imp**** warranty of quality, a six-month return period for defects, and the right to choose a remedy (repair, replacement, or refund). The CPA also requires dealers to be truthful in their advertising and prohibits misleading representations about the vehicle's condition. Abdullah advised that if we do not authorize this repairs from our policy then Kaloo motors won't fix anything during the 6 month period because it's like we breaking a relationship with them. Since we bought the car it's been more there at their Mechanic then with us. All i'm saying is these guys have no integrity. They sell nice cars but you have to be one up for them.

I recently purchased a car from Kaloo motors. Abdullah and his team are amazing. I live in Cape Town and I didn't have to go collect it in Joburg, they sent it to me. Thank you so much Kaloo motors, I really appreciate your service.

I recently purchased a vehicle from these guys and the initial experience was great. Unfortunately, when it comes to after-sales service it all goes south. The vehicle I purchased had a number of small dents, and it was agreed upon that should I take the car these would be sorted out. Its now been over three months and no one has bothered to sort this out for me. The car has been back a number of times since the initial purchase and this was never attended to. Secondly, upon collecting the vehicle I noticed an irritating knock from the suspension. I immediately informed the dealer who told me to bring it back to them. They apparently had "three experts check the car out over three days" and no one, including BMW could find any fault. I collected the car and the knock persisted. I then asked my mechanic to put the car on his lift to see if we could spot anything. Immediately we noticed the left shock was leaking badly. Considering this car had just passed a road worthy, and been checked by "Three experts" I immediately brought is to their attention. They again told me to bring the car in so they could sort it out. They had my car for almost two weeks this time, due to them "Waiting for parts" When I got the car back it was slightly better this time, but the irritating knock was still there. I have since discovered that they only replaced the leaking shock on the left side, and left the completely worn-out right shock on the vehicle. I now have to try and match another shock of the same model number to try and get this car into a safe road-worthy condition. Considering how much overbook value this car was priced at, the least I would have expected is that they replace both baldy worn shocks. Or at least have the decency to give me the option of paying to have the other one replaced while they were busy, rather than being deceitful and trying to hide if from me.

If you want to buy a car that gives you oil, cooling, electrical and mechanical problems then Kaloo is the best place. They gave a false service record and the chassis number can not be found on any system. I bought a BMW 320I and spent upwards from R80 000 to just get the vehicle to function. But the vehicle is still giving more and more problems.

It’s not often that I take the time and effort to write up reviews of the service I have received, only in extreme cases when the service has either been rather shocking or superb which was surely the case when it came to Kaloo Motors. After searching for months trying to find the right car I finally stumbled upon Kaloo Motors and man what an outstanding experience! Each and every one of the staff members were so happy and willing to help unlike almost all the other dealerships in the country, i visited almost all dealerships in JHB in search of my new vehicle from large dealerships like VW and BMW to the smallest dealerships on the outskirts of JHB. The cars Abdullah decides to add to his dealership are only the cleanest and most well-kept vehicles I have ever seen, and this is coming from a true enthusiast so I would know what a clean well looked after car would look like. Mimi whom works in accounts is a truly exceptional lady who takes a great deal of time and effort to get the best possible deal all while explaining things very carefully so you fully understand the ins and outs of your finance arrangements with the large banks. Mohammed what a legend of a chap was more than willing to help. As soon as I entered the dealership, almost all car sales agents insist on some form of credit check before you may test drive their vehicles which is ridiculous especially when you are a serious buyer and about to put down a 160K cash deposit on a vehicle which can make the whole experience very upsetting as almost all of them have this whiff of arrogance and superiority complex about them. This was not the case when it came to Kaloo Motors, Mohammed was so super friendly and allowed me all the time in the world to thoroughly test the new vehicle I would be purchasing and allowed me to take an extra-long drive along the high way to really get a fell for the car. There are however a few gripes which I had with the purchase and is why I am giving this review 4 stars instead of 5, I think I may be a hard person to please. The vehicle had a bit of rear bumper damage which was repaired as per my request but was not patched perfectly and a small dent was left near the rear number plate. The other issue I had which I found after the purchase was a large gash to the side of the vehicle which had indented and damaged the side skirt and the very underneath section of the sub frame. I did not bring this up with Abdullah as overall, I was very happy with the purchase but think it would have gone a long way had all the damage been repaired properly prior to my purchase as I will now have to cover the cost to get this damage repaired. Overall this transaction was one of the best I have ever experienced and maybe going forward Kaloo Motors can learn from this sale. Thank you Kaloo Motors, you have done an exceptional job and have a lifetime client that will continue to refer others to you! Regards Robert Buchanan
